Yeah he works out with Gronk in the offseason, but he's a total dudebro. Faulk too.

Dundon upgraded Tulsky to a new VP of Strategy position and gave him a voice in decision making, gonna say that's going to have nothing but a positive impact on the club.

Every time a big name player is traded people start talking about then being a douche in the room.

Hell, Hanifin is a big time Trump supporter.

- BINGO!

Well those thoughts came from Boston fans as well...

Just for fun... go and re-read the Flames thread from yesterday.

Hysterical... đŸ¤£

I did so and the most relevant thing I found was this:

I think one of Bennett, Frolic or Ferland are not coming back.
- DuranDuran

I'd say that deserves some recognition. Thanks for the tip.

Ferland scored as many goals as he did because he was playing with Johnny and Mony. Your going to find that out the hard way.

Put Lindholm with them, and I think you'll see a decent increase in his point totals.

If we put him on the second line, he's an upgrade over Frolik which should be playing on the 3rd line anyways.

- Flamin_Irishmin

That's fine. As long as he brings a physical element and 10~ goals he'll be fine.

Right now we're looking at

Zykov-Aho-Teravainen
Skinner-Necas-Svechnikov
Ferland-Staal-McGinn
Foegele-Rask-Williams

Slavin-Hamilton
Fleury-Faulk

not exactly difficult to predict that an inconsistent middle six forward with only a year left to UFA might be dealt

i still think bennett might go, seen enough of him at this point and they need to make room for mangiapane

Fair.

I think Lindy will work well with those two if given the opportunity. He's great at give-and-go offense, especially around the net.

Word was he was asking for $5 Mill per for 5 years and the Canes wouldn't match it, hence the trade.

For the Canes, they replace Lindholm's spot with Svechnikov already, so no real trouble there.

They get a legit top pairing D man in Hamilton and lose all the promise of Hanifin, which sucks, but Hamilton is better right now anyway. There's a chance Hanifin develops to be as good as Dougie, but debatable right now.

Ferland and Fox coming to Carolina is the big win here. Canes haven't had anyone who brings what Ferland does for a long, long, time. Ferland-Staal-Williams will be an absolutely miserable line to play against.

Adam Fox has great potential, though word was he wouldn't sign in Canada anyway. Pretty good chance he'd sign in Raleigh though.

- BINGO!

Yup, bottom line is both teams needed & wanted a shake up in their respective locker rooms & this does do that. But yeah, I was hoping for more in return in all honesty for Hamilton. Lindholm is the best RHS talent we have had to complete that top line. Lindholm was picked before Monahan so the talent is there. Trade is probably pretty good for both teams. That playoff we had in 2015 kind wrecked our rebuild, so you arent far off that this may be a longterm retool. Not too often you see a team willing to part with two 21 & 23 year old 5th overall picks in one trade.

why the (frank) do people always say this. draft position means jack poop this many years later, and im pretty certain in retrospect Carolina would have taken monahan over lindholm

Horrible trade. Yes the Flames underperformed last season but to blame one of their best players is conpletely asinine. I guess our gm puts more stock into intangibles then he does into analytics. Very disappointing.

Can anyone tell me if Hanafin brings any grit?

Seems like DH has issues. If that´s the case then I think Hanafin is a decent replacement.
As far as Ferland goes he was amazing in the playoffs against Van. But that player was rarely seen. Seemed like he lost all his grit when he went on the top line. He was a big body with a decent shot but did not make Monohan or JG better players.

I do not hate this trade. But do not like it.

Lets see what these guys get signed for before we start freaking out.

guessing around 9-10M for the two of them, Lindholm might get a bit more.

They still have a lot of cap space and could create more with a Brouwer buyout (which needs to happen anyway) and a Stone trade (which also needs to happen anyway)

IMO still need a top RW to play with SM and JG. With Lindholm on the top line we are still a one line team.

JG-SM-??
Tchucky-Backs-Lind
Bennett-Janko-Foo
Mang-Shore-Frolik

Idk. What would it take to get Wilson out of Washington? Team needs more grit.

they used up most of their trade capital already unless they trade another d prospect (a bad idea). Bennett and Stone are the next guys to go but neither are worth much i don't think

my guess is they'll go after Neal or something

Zero grit. Noah's not a physical guy by any stretch. He's more one of those guys who skated his way out of trouble.. his lack of physicality around his own net is part of why I'm okay with seeing him go. Lots of goals against simply due to not tying anyone up in his own end.

You'll be disappointed if you want grit. Peters is all about transition and creating pinch points on the ice to create turnovers.

Well he was a consensus ranking by professional scouts at the time, so I imagine at 23 the kid still has the talent to garner that ranking. Why do idiots always love to think their hindsight opinions are visionary?
