Bean has no value.
- Iggysbff

They are banking on Fluery stepping up big time. Or Bean stepping in right away and having an impact. Will be interesting to see where this goes. Part of me feels that LA moves Muzzin/Martinez/Forbort in a package and still go for Skinner.

Based off losing our best D-man, we are now better?
- Otiss

Gio's still on the team.

Lindholm is significantly better than Ferland, and Hanifin's game will mesh better with the Flames even if he doesn't have quite the offensive upside Hamilton does.

Gio is our best dman. Calgary's forward group is definitely better. Lindholm is a good player and has a lot of upside. I don't hate this trade.

Interesting... only time will tell, hope your are correct.

Welcome new guys to the team.

I agree with Hunk. Hanifin is already a top pairing and points have increased every year, PLUS he's only 21. Lindholm seems to be very underrated, if he plays top line RW with Johnny and Monny, look out Pacific. I like it

I sure hoped they had the contracts figured out before the trade. Bringing in two guys who aren't signed yet is kind of scary.

Freddie was waived Jan 4. Ten days later they began the downhill slide winning 12 and losing 25 the rest of the way. The only possible explanation was a problem in the room. So now DH is gone. Not a coincidence, I'm sure.
Obviously the Flames had to take his brother to get DH (or to keep him happy.) There's just no other explanation for taking FH.
Either way, I'd say making a trade like that won't be remembered as BT's smartest move.
On the bright side, I'd bet my next paycheque that we see the old Brodie back again next year. And that won't be a coincidence either.

Hanifin is in no way a top pairing guy, but I agree on Lindholm.

The contract side of it is what Tre does best. I'm ok with deal, would have liked to have had a 2019 2nd & 3rd added in but WTF, those are lottery tickets that may not pan out. Flames have some real interesting options seeing Andersson, Kylington & Valamaki are on the cusp of being on the big team as well.

I dont mind this deal, we came up a little light. Maybe we see another deal yet.

There was definitely something going on hopefully this addresses that. Again I like the guys coming in.

That's a pretty big stretch. I could give you at least ten other possible explanations that are far more likely than Hamilton turned into a big sourpuss and made everyone play bad.

When you look at what they gave Hamilton, Hanifin is probably going to want at least 6.5 a year to lock down long term and the rumours were that Lindholm was wanting 5. Hopefully Treliving is willing to pay that because I'm not a big of a fan of this trade if they're both not signed long term.

Love it!!!

Lindholm will cross the 50 point mark on the top line. And they didn’t have to throw in Bennett who hopefully pops.

Said a month ago Dougie was a problem in the room and he was gone.

If Treliving isn't sure they'll sign long-term before this trade was done then he should be fired lol. I'm sure he will lock them both up

Not a bad trade for Calgary, I’ve always thought Hamilton was a bit overrated.

Hanifan might not put up as many points as Hamilton, but is a better overall dman already.

I think this is a good deal for the Flames.

If you are judging it by what the Flames gave up for Hamilton, well, then you will never be happy. But I think trading Hamilton was a good move.
