It's all about perspective, I'm very high on both Hanafin and Lindholm, Ferland was benefiting playing on lines he had no business being on and Fox way well just go to UFA. If you've got a guy that needs to go, getting two young guys that are just into their own is pretty stellar payment IMO. Lindholm is going to slot in beside johnny and monny, hanafin beside harmonic. I really top6 got much better, top4 got worse but not that much worse IMO. Hamilton is a tough loss though.

The bigger question is why did Fox and Hamilton both want out?

Hayton at 5 is dumb, passing on Zadina is dumb. Bahl at 55 is okay not really a big bang . After Bahl they did not do alot

passing on zadina make my heart race I was hoping z or hughes, Dobson to but only if hughes wasn't there

Hayton is going to be a NHLer. How productive, we'll see. I'm a little surprised they didn't go Veleno. Detroit won this draft IMO, Veleno and Zadina could possibly both make the roster next year.

I hope it's because Calgary is doomed to fail, because (frank) the flames. Doesn't change my view on the trade though.

coming back from camping to see Hughes and Woo, I'm still a little shell-shocked I'm so impressed by those picks. Wouldn't have hated Wilde in that spot, wonder why he slid so far.

Hanifin's defensive game is pretty questionable, he's pretty young so there's time for him to improve it for sure, so time will tell. I like his offensive game, but he's not going to be a game breaker.

Calgary is taking a big risk splitting up the Gio/Hamilton pairing, they were one of the best in the league at 5v5. It's possible that Gio was making Dougie look better defensively than he was though.

That's the key here.

Both dmen can put up points(Hanifin would've put up more than he had if he got PP1 time like Dougie).

Gonna be interesting to follow, because I do suspect that Gio covered some of Dougie's warts up, but at the same time, I think Hanifin's defensive game needs some serious work.

I think ferland is getting underrated by some people, he did ride shotgun with 2 great players, but he did his part and has played well on other lines in the past.

They are overpaid for the role they play, but also effective players. I think coburn or callahan will get dumped out of those four if need be. Miller is the only RFA though so they really don't need to.

Benning apparently said Hughes was 3rd on the Nucks board so he was the pick even if Detroit took Bouchard or Boqvist. Chicago would've been gifted Zadina at freakin 8th overall!

oh yeah, so speed and skill... bit of a JV but on the back end. I like the look of Woo, saw him play twice in Vic this year. The kid has some real talent and what a great name.

utube that Russian we picked in late round, he can flat out fly with the puck on his stick and he is gritty for 5 foot 7.

Yzerman has an ex-Rangers fetish. Girardi, Callahan, McDonagh. 2 of their former captains lol.

Killorn has played well for them in the past and Coburn was a solid 2nd pairing guy before he lost a step.

Ya but gio or Hamonic (maybe) will be a better partner fro Hanafin IMO. I think he's going to shine playing with Johnny as the chemistry is already there. If he does play PP1 right off the bat, which could go either way, he'll get over 40. 40 from him and 60 from lindholm is a pretty good start, I would expect the both to only go up. Again, that's me and I do really like both.

Flames fell apart after Freddie Hamilton was gone...wonder if some locker room problems started around that time maybe? Just speculating.

Yeah, I could see this trade going either way. To me it's pretty even, Fox is a real wildcard in this though.

Yeah, it's very true. I'm basing my prediction on him walking but I guess he could choose Carolina... but why

I really thought the wings would take hughes, they were courting him and taiking d leading up but Arizona passing on z got us a dynamic d which we need so bad.
