always going to be haters. The league is going small and this is a special talent. I don't think I'm as optimistic he plays in van this year as probably some on here are (I'm guessing) but the talent is pretty crazy with this kid. Electric player with the puck on his stick. - neem55
As much as we love Bo and Brock, they’re goal scorers first and foremost and not exactly guys who control the pace of the game.
If Petersson and Hughes pan out, they add a completely different element to this team. Both at 5v5 and on the PP. |

Once Hughes starts passing/skating like he can, it's going to shut a lot of people on here up. I do think he's at least a year away. I agree, he brings a completely different element, even than Pettersson too really. His stickhandling/passing/skating are all A+ IMO |

It will be interesting what JB does, I don't hate a year at Michigan or in Utica. He's so talented, but playing D at 18 is no joke. |

He did okay playing against men last year . Like I said start him off at Canucks if he is not ready send him down. Talents like Hischer do okay

Green Benning and Aquaman have all said EP will be a Canuck - VANTEL
Yep.
I just don't want every top pick to necessarily be expected to make the jump.
and with having rookies in the lineup, maybe it is a little different this season with OJ having a year of pro in europe, same with Dahlen.
we shouldn't be in a rush to get young players into a losing environment and there is plenty most young players could learn in Utica. |

Ya for sure, it's very possible. His talent is there, his body may not be yet. |

Getting closer to Lefty's Tavares dream - VANTEL
Come on. You are not very happy when Benning doesnt get something for players.

I don’t think a late round pick for Hutton is out of the question |

100%
This was against one of the better teams in college as well. Hughes flat out took over some games against older players.

Only from the “all short players suck” crew
They know who they are - Nucker101
Lefty hates the vertically chalenged.
This is what confuses me. I wanted Hughes the most out of the D not named Dahlin and Lefty said "no more midgets". "No D under 6' and 190 was another quote" in that conversation. That was not long ago at all. Weeks... Even recently, he was promoting Dobson in our Dobson or Hughes conversation because he could skate and wasn't tiny.
I win. He also hates the Leafs now too... I'm on a roll... soon I'll have him putting away the trolling gear and fishing with a fly rod instead of commercial style.

Hutton does some quiet things good. Pro scouts will see a bit a value and some up side still. A 4rth is more than we used to acquire him. That's a win for what it's worth.

Horvat went back to junior for a season. OJ still isnt here. Boeser finished college.
Mcann and JV actually earned spots at camp and preseason but also went back to junior for a D+1.
No one was expected to make the jump under this management. A couple made the jump but should have been returned and the mistake was they were not. |

Oh what? Right Prez had Boqvist. Great pick by Chicago... dammit! I'm still getting up to speed. Detroit just had such a good draft, my brother is such a wings fan... another dammit! |

They went back because clearly neither of them earned those spots. I think the standard ought to be, but honestly (and I am huge on development) Hughes is good enough skill wise to play right away. |

I think he can potentially play right away, but the college hockey schedule is better for him to get his body into nhl shape. Less games, less travel time, etc.
I’d sign him next year if it were up to me. |

Dowd and Archie are still a possibility to sign. No word if Molino has be qualified. Deadline is tomorrow. |

I’m okay signing Dowd for Utica. A Center that can play all situations in the AHL and put up points. Former captain in college so he brings leadership.
I’m cool with Archibald in Utica as well. Don’t care for Molino |
