Here's the bottom eight teams and how many times they selected, just for curiosity sake.
25. Chicago - 8 picks made
26. Vancouver - 6 picks made
27. Detroit - 10 picks made
28. Montreal - 11 picks made
29. Arizona - 9 picks made
30. Ottawa - 8 picks made
31. Buffalo - 6 picks made (Botterill still cleaning up after Tim Murray) - LeftCoaster
You need to learn to count there is 7

I don't understand how GM's like Hextall can get a third round picks for a kid they took in the sixth round, and no ones ever heard of, named Cooper Marody or Stan Bowman can get a third round pick for stay at home dman Michal Kempny and his 7 points but Benning can't get any value for his players?
Montreal got a fifth round pick from Washington for some guy named Jakub Jerabek who had twenty five NHL games to his credit and a grand total of 4 points.
Boston got a third round pick for Frank Vatrano, check his stats, the Oilers got a third round pick for Brandon Davidson, again, check his stats.
Why can't Benning do this? Do other GM's also think he's an idiot and won't deal with him? - LeftCoaster
It's the hair . Truthfully Benning is not a good GM . He should be a scout. He is in over his head.

Are you kidding me??? There were a lot of good centers on the board, all ranked ahead of Woo. But like I said, I'm not against Woo I just don't think he was BPA at #37.
Woo will be a good right hand shot guy for the Canucks though, I like him! - LeftCoaster
I was thinking of you and your broken heart over McCann when I wanted them to grab Akil Thomas with the 2nd.

I would sign him right away, When the kid is this hyped don't piss him off. His bother also says now Canucks are his new favorite team. - VANTEL
Damn tight. There's no way you don't sign Hughes if he asks. He's good enough now to develop in the AHL if not ready for the Canucks. Take zero chances with College if you can in this particular situation.
Besides, we want his brother joining him here like you pointed out... not him joining his brother somewhere else.

Woo is so misunderstood. Now there will be sell outs every game as he is the highest drafted Chinese heritage ever.
Not only that it cost pennies to make sticky rice compared to Gourmet Hot Dogs.
They will make a huge commission selling Jet Woo gear in mainland China to a bunch of men who don't know the difference between a hockey stick and a chop stick.
It is also a lot easier for John Garret to pronounce Woo over Jesse Ylönen but he will find a way to screw it up.
Lastly TaJ Tambir and Lefty need fuel to hate Benning all year
And that my good sir is why we drafted Woo - VANTEL
It's going to pay dividends that way for sure. At least he's pretty certain to play NHL in a meaningful role. They didnt waste a pick on this. There were better players though...

Just going through all the kids and teams now to see who made out the best. I'm pretty happy with the draft, I just wish they'd have more picks, hopefully next year. So many great kids in the second round, could've picked up a nice center with another pick there. - LeftCoaster
I'm stoked about the first round. Disappointed overall.
Hughes is everything for me in this draft. Otherwise what ever.
Biggest disappointment is not acquiring any picks in the top 3 rounds at this turning point.

I saw Benning picked up a SIXTH rounder
Detroit had seven picks in the first three rounds this year, what a hall for those wieners in red - LeftCoaster

I am disappointed we didn't get extra picks not disappointed in the picks.
I think Woo will change peoples mind this year
Madden is talented like his dad and grittier than some of the centers that were still on board.
The scouting staff put the list away of popular choices used by most clubs. It looks like they did their homework and went off the board for high risk high return.
Ultinen has already turned pro and is a skilled LHD. Similar to OJs style.
Manukyan is a speedy slick forward. His videos remind me of Quinn Hughes if he was a forward. He is also willing to fight.
At 7 th rd we took a good goalie prospect |

Yup...him and about four others in there that played center and were rated above Woo, but like I said, I'm happy with Woo, we needed a right shot dman and he's a good player in his own right. |

I wanted someone else. I also think he'll be a decent player. I just wanted a forward with way more upside at that point. How the players other people wanted turn out will determine if it's a mind changer as much as Woo's results do.
