Well considering players from the CHL aren't allowed to play in the AHL until they're 20 but players drafted from Europe can (dumb rule), it limits certain top prospects. Otherwise I'm sure there would be many other players that would've had a better year as an 18 year old defenseman in the league. That CHL rule ruins players development as they're forced to go back to junior instead of graduating to playing pro and playing against bigger and stronger men. They need to get rid of that rule imo.

Since he was drafted out of CHL and not a European league I don't think he's eligible to play in the AHL next year. Which sucks... if he doesn't make the Leafs out of camp (which he won't) he will be forced to play another season with the Soo.
