According to BSH, Wylie was one the biggest risers in Central Scouting’s rankings going from 179 to 71 in their final ranking report. He also played with Hart so the scouting staff may know a little more about him than others having watched Hart for the last few years. |

Not overly impressed with any Flyers pick honestly. Not sure why Hextall didnt trade for a 3rd round pick, considering he gave one away for a bad goalie. |

Perhaps he did try to move but the offers weren’t good enough or teams weren’t willing to trade picks after the 1st. We’ll never know. Hextall has been willing to be aggressive moving up or back, so it’s not like he’s hesitant to do so. |

He was forced into that trade albeit because he chose to fly with an injury prone tandem. Who knew Mrazek would fall off a cliff? |

I still find it amazing...American kids and a few Swedes. Guess we know where the Flyer scouts are located. |

I'd also be interested in some of these long shots with great potential in the later rounds:
(I really like Oliver Okuliar)
Oliver Okuliar - lw
Patrick Khodorenko - c
Carl Jakobsson - lw/rw
Marcus Westfalt - c/lw
Lukas Dostal - g
Drew Deridder - g - dubc55
Decent pick in the 7th. |

I do believe Hexy was active in making a trade to improve club. Prices have been very high according to NHL Network. Hexy will not give up a young stud unless it is a great deal for the club. Still UFA and trades out there. |

Not much out there for UFA besides Tavares and I don't see any major long term signings happening for the Flyers. As long as the Flyers avoid all the 32+ year old UFAs, unless its a decent 1 year deal, I will be happy.
The players I see that may look interesting all have some major concerns:
Robin Lehner (G)
Calvin De Haan (D)
Matt Calvert (LW)
Martin Frk (RW)
The Flyers are going to have a huge amount of cap space next year if they don't do any major signing and their roster is basically set. I wonder if Hextall would help another team shed salary for a cost. |

I like Riley Nash or Bozak for the 3rd line center role. Both slightly younger than Fip and a little cheaper. Not sure if Bozak kills penalties. |

Bottom line is this: if their two first rounders pan out, this will be a successful draft. If one of the their depth defenseman work out, it’ll be a bonus. They didn’t really reach for the two firsts if you go by Bill’s analysis and they supplemented their center depth in the system with one of the top wingers of this draft. The only downer out of this draft was not getting Berggren, but that’s not to say they didn’t try to get him. |

Bozak would ask for 5-6M for how many years? NOPE
Nash is interesting, put up points with a good team, depends on asking price, but these are the signings you normally end up with the Dale Weises. |

What realistically would you have done differently?
I'm sure Hextall didnt think to try and trade for a 3rd rounder , it's not like he is a GM or anything.
Ignoring the fact that he obviously didnt think of trying to get a 3rd round pick you know it takes two teams to trade right? |

I disagree. They'll need a lot of that cap space to re-sign and extend their own quality young players. What you want is to have available cap space to use to make moves when you really identify what your holes are when you need to make those final moves to become a top team. Now is not the time for that.
What do you think the cost of adding Trouba, Parayko, Hamilton would be? I don't even believe teams are actively shopping those players. - MJL

1. Over 35 deal
2. $6.25 million / year
3. 3 Years
4. Multiple years removed from NHL
None of that makes any sense for the Flyers this year, next year or the ever. - opeth_pa
It would’ve been ideal. 6.25 is nothing for him for 3 years. Still a very good player
Like others said. He prob never had the flyers on his radar. |

And to another team once again with the same rumors of not being a good teammate, not someone I want on the Flyers anyway. |

Not sure the pressing need to make a deal just to get a 3rd back. It’s not like they haven’t been adding tons of prospects with multiple 1st rounders the last few years. They have an extra 3rd next for what it’s worth |

Why do that deal with Montreal? If they wanted a 7th today to draft shouldn’t we have gotten a 6th next year? Confused Bc there’s no guarantee the pick is going to be a higher one next year |

3 years? I have interest in bozak. We have a ton of cap space now and In the future. Even with signing our own players. Hexy is going to be making some signings this summer |

6th round. 7th round. They're both massive craps shoots. I get what you're saying but who knows, maybe a move like that every once in a while keeps you in good terms with other GMs or something. |

I love how for some people this time of year every 3rd is gonna turn into the next Ghost. And then at the trade deadline they're looking to give them away like candy for a rental. |
