It was stupid unless their scouts said next year's draft was expected to be deeper with talent, especially with forwards but they should have got something to let the Leafs pick 1st in the 6th round, one pick from being a 5th round pick. It seems like the Sabres initiated the trade to get them another pick in the 6th next year.
