The amount of female dogging in here today is incredible. Does the season start tomorrow? Is the final roster assembled? |

Solid draft overall. I think they got pretty great value for their first 3 guys. |

Not guaranteed by any means, but Dougie Hamilton’s arrival in CAR could enhance the chances of Justin Faulk being traded. BTW, Faulk’s NTC kicks in July 1.
Bob McKenzie - adambuffalo
As long as it’s not us who gets Faulk
We don’t need an overrated, offensive defenseman who would get PP2 time (at best)
And he’s been pretty bad defensively the last 2yrs
No thanks
Unless we are getting him super cheap
Which I’d doubt would happen |

Or, he should have said, "Hey, Toronto, give us your 5th next year for our 1st pick in the 6th this year?" That would have been a fair trade off. - sskkoo1
Who says he didn’t try something like that?
Anyways...
not worth getting fired up about trading a pick that probably won’t amount to anything
Also,
there’s no difference in talent level between guys picked 156 & 176
Obviously Botts didn’t like what was left there & would rather have the extra lotto ticket in next year’s draft
It’s no big deal at all |

A poor man's Shattenkirk - Slump Buster
Very, Very well said
I wonder if anyone is still thinking we should’ve signed Shattenkirk?
So glad we didn’t
And I’ll bet the Rangers are already regretting it |

What do we think a potential return for orielley could be now.
As much as I think that he may be part of the issue in the locker room, eichel is the other half, I think I may be underwhelmed for anything not the 3OA |

I don't think we're trading O'Reily, and even if we did it won't be until after July 1st to a team we weren't expecting. |

Probably what's not worth trading him. Let him stay another year. With all the young talent expected to be on this team, if we start winning, the locker room issues will melt away. |

I hope you're right. Especially on the last part. The names and teams associated with him have been semi barf worthy so far, imho |

That’s possible.
Not sure what other pieces we have that we can use to find a 1LW |

I don't think having an established, defined #1 LW will make or break our season. I'm ready to give: Smith, O'regan, Nylander, Oloffson, a shot at #1 LW during camp and see if chemistry happens with Eichel and Reinhart.
If no one steps up for the 1LW, than stick Mittelstadt there and let him ease in the NHL on the wing instead of 3C. |

Let’s not go down this road again.
He agrees to play 1LW for Canada and refused for the avalanche. One of the reasons he asked to be traded.

Tough to say
Teams like StL & Philly both have a handful of prospects i like that they might part with
Might have to wait till Tavares picks a team to get our best offer,
and even then Botts might decide it’s not enough
Which would be fine by me, i like ROR
And a center group of Eichel, O’Reilly & Mittelstadt could be among the league’s best |

Or Rodrigues
Why not at least give it a look?

I would include him. I think he's ready for a breakout season. I could see him putting up Reinhart numbers 25g 25A. |

I don't care about 19 spots in the 6th round at all. It's a roll of the dice at the 1st pick or the 19th - jcragcrumple
More like a roulette wheel where 20 is just as likely to come up as 1
There’s no difference in talent between the 2 spots
Obviously Botts liked the extra chance next year, than he did this year |

Let’s draft another Dman and trade a better draft pick this year to a division rival for a worse one next year. Effin doofus of a GM. Glad Homie starting to see the light. We wanted to make this draft about Rasmus Dahlin, the only guarantee, and blow off the rest of the draft. That’s embarrassing. GMTM should still be here. Too bad he was too brash for the lovable loser fan base. Congratulations, you got what you wanted. |

The amount of crying over a 6th round pick on this board is actually pethetic. We got another pick next year live with it. |

He’s played less that 5 games at wing in Buffalo.
And just because people forget and then can’t find anything in 30 seconds of goodie search doesn’t mean it never happened |

It literally doesn't matter, because you draw the winner at the end, not as it goes. - Wetbandit1
no it really does
if we traded the first pick in the 4th rd to the bruins for their 4th rd next year, how would you feel?
if we traded the first pick in the 5th rd to washington for their 5th rd pick next year, how would you feel?
all 30 gm's would have made that trade with botts today, w/o flinching
I have been around buffalo sports long enough to know what happened
we were the 31st place team in the nhl and punted on a pick today instead of being aggressive and making a move |

Listened to this on the radio and kept waiting for something else in the trade ... nothing... I'm sorry just a bad trade...especially when i heard another team traded their 6th for a 5th next year... doesn't give you a good feeling about the GM when you hear a trade like this - pwasil7
that's exactly how I feel |
