I know. Him and Zadina are probably the two I was surprised about. I think Detroit got such a steal

Mock drafts had him going 12-15 range wasn't a large reach. Bob Mackenzie haad him 12 i believe. Merkley is considered a true boom or bust. Kid can be a star or never see an NHL rink.

With 3 first round picks I am willing to swing for the fences on one. Would love Merkely at 26

At this rate you guys could trade back up and grab Veleno.

All of these mocks were totally useless. Lol

That's why you can only count directly on scouts, and the best of very few draft experts, to see what they are aware of greater more than anyone else. It's why I never pay any attention to any mock drafts, except from those few top experts.
Their Tkachuk's at #7 or Zadina at #9 prove their ineptitude with their picks simply being uneducated guesses.
Hopefully, Kravstov for us at #9 instead of trading down to likely still select him at 5 picks lower, will work out for the best, as McKenzie was trying to show his positives for us going off the top 10 board. If so, then even the draft experts were initially off by about 1/3 in where he would be chosen, when having him at around +/- #15.

I don't think Rangers take Merkley... they keep discussing character in every interview and that kid is the opposite. But I hope they go for it.

Really? I think you’re being blinded by the months of talking about the “top 10” for months.

In Kravi we trust!

So Feds, you seem to really follow the Russkies. In your opinion do you think there is a kind of slight bias against them in the draft?

There are going to be some names out there at those picks that no one thought would be there.

And who knows, Merkley May fall to 39.
