I'm with you, I try to be positive. I just really don't like the goalie pick. Doesn't negate the whole draft for me though. The Nils pick made my year.

3 picks in the first is like nailing your 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks so that’s good but they had an opportunity to put themselves in a much better position organizationally

The fact the Ryan Gropp is our 4th best prospect on the wing spells big trouble. He sucks

Believe they’re gonna Ben looking for a trade for a younger winger or go via free agency

IDK, I just don't see him or the Rangers really considering a reunion. Both probably kind of want to move on

I can also see reasons that both might think it works. What I think will keep him from signing here is that there are teams who will offer him considerably more than we want to give.
We know his true worth better than most. Well, some of us do. Some jack wagons on here think he’s a detriment no matter what he’s earning.

Not even about being the best scout, they just constantly go off the board and it hasn’t been working for almost 10 years now. Might be time to change the approach.

So if we go back to 2005, here are our 1st rounders.

2005: Staal#12 Other than the injuries I would say that was a successful pick, by NHL standards.

2006: Bobby Sanguinetti #21 Bust

2007: Alexei Cherepanov #17 Tragic. Could have been a great pick.

2008: Michael Delzotto #20 Not really a bust, but not great either

2009: Chris Kreider #19 Very good pick

2010: Dylan Mcilrath #10 Bust

2011: J.T. Miller #15 Not a bad pick

2012: Brady Skjei #28 Very good pick

2013 - 2016 No 1st rounder

2017: Lias Andersson #7 Not sure yet, but could be a good pick
Filip Chytil #21 Same as Andersson

Its not as bad as people make it out to be seeing as before this year they really only had 2 picks since 2005 in the top 10. And it was #10, and #7. And no 1st rounder for 4 years.

Guess I wanted a little more for my 68 million bucks, and to make matters worse, he’ll hang around for the next 3 years, while the “rebuild” is in full throttle.

But, truth be told, it’s not his fault. The organization placed him up on a pedestal
and everyone bought in, accept maybe for the other 20 guys in the room. Did you ever stop to think how the other 5 guys on the ice felt every time the PA announcer proclaimed, “and in goal, #30, Henrik Lunnnndqvist”.

No difference, the next week or so will truly indicate the direction this team is going to take for the next year or so. Just know, whatever direction that is, it will be with a aging goaltender who will have to much to say, and a couple of bad knees.

But hey, he’s the King, right?

He’s a (frank)ing Hall of Fame, franchise player. They play on Broadway. And you expect them to, what, undersell him? Do you think the Habs didn’t play up Richard or Bellaveau (sp) to the fans? Like Gretzky in Edmonton? You’ve been a fan far too long to think this is some isolated case.
If not, maybe you should cheer for the Wild or some other team that wants to put you to sleep during games.

Miller gotta be considered a good pick, especially considering the reaction to many here when he got traded
