That's why I clearly wrote as to whether they attempted or not to trade down, by ending with the words, "if at all possible", meaning IF the opportunity was there WITH some other team willing to do so.
I both never heard yet, and didn't state that they turned down an opportunity to trade down. I said that some selections they made were not as if they received "their money's worth" in the earlier points they were made at. So just what was their TRUE draft thinking plan heading into the draft, under a then supposedly retool/rebuild mode? The wild week of big trades many expected prior to the draft never occurred, except for a Montreal/Arizona swap, and in effect, a three teams trade due as a result to off the ice personal issues in Ottawa. Did Gorton and company have an alternative plan in place for the draft should things necessary for Plan 1 not pan out?

- RangerSaver

IDK, but from what Gorton has said.."Plan A" DID pan out, and they are happy with the picks they got and how everything worked out. He kept saying we just tried to draft the best players in line on "our board" . That's all I'm going by

The more Clark opens his mouth the more of a jack ass he sounds like speaking of kravtsov he's a bit like JT Miller he's not a goal scorer but scores goals. He's really a center but you can't be 18yr old Center in KHL . So you draft a kid who reminds of a player you couldn't wait to get out of town pass up one of the most talented goal scorers in draft which is what your team needs the most. It's like everytime I calm down about it I have to see some other stupid thing this idiot is saying.

NO, maybe, yes?

Latkos....64 points in 50 games in Chech league..(not too bad)
Barron....31 points in 33 games as a Freshman at Cornell (not too bad)

You've written them off already? wow

Did you really think that THIS draft was the end all/be all, and that NYR would be able to address every need at every position? Our d depth is great, we have good goalie depth, w/ hopefully 1, 2, or 3 of them competing for starting job one day. We got dynamic winger, and a good Finnish winger. We drafted two centers last year, and acquired Howden.

Only reason NYR doesn't have many high end Draft picks is organization is b/c they traded them away while trying to win the Cup the past few years. NYR isn't some team who has no success in draft...it's just a team that hasn't had many good opportunites, up until last year, to be in position to get that high end talent.

Trades and next years draft will probably focus on more forward depth. That's all I'm saying.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, even though I kind of am

Just trying to be objective and trusting, god forbid, the management of a team that has done very well over the past decade or so.

You know, I was making a joke about it yesterday but I wonder how much truth there might be to this. If they loved the defenseman in this years draft and like the forward depth of next years draft, it could be entirely plausible. I'm pretty sure Gorton is thinking the Rangers aren't going to be very competitive next year, and there will probably be some trades again at the deadline to stockpile picks.

Guess I wanted a little more for my 68 million bucks, and to make matters worse, he’ll hang around for the next 3 years, while the “rebuild” is in full throttle.

But, truth be told, it’s not his fault. The organization placed him up on a pedestal
and everyone bought in, accept maybe for the other 20 guys in the room. Did you ever stop to think how the other 5 guys on the ice felt every time the PA announcer proclaimed, “and in goal, #30, Henrik Lunnnndqvist”.

No difference, the next week or so will truly indicate the direction this team is going to take for the next year or so. Just know, whatever direction that is, it will be with a aging goaltender who will have to much to say, and a couple of bad knees.

But hey, he’s the King, right?

Do you not know how to read or do simple math? From you link for Lakatos

Games: 50, 41 and 36. That Equals 127

Points: 22 21 11. That equals 54.

Ah yes, now the stats don't matter because you can't bend the point in your direction.

Actually..I still stand by my answer to your question of them making it. I still say

YES, MAYBE, NO

You Jack ASS. I guess you didn't see my answer before. If only we picked a winger instead of a goalie than all of our depth problems at wing would be answered

I'm still amazed you couldn't distinguish between PTS and PIM. And try to pass it off.
