I heard that too Jimbo. ..but the context of that comment was regarding Hayton's league awareness and stat awareness and not regarding his actual skill set. Apparently Schiefle is a stat whore who know follows those types of things closely

thanks for clarifying

maybe Arizona was listening and heard it wrong like I did

No one seems to be talking about Ottawa still. To me I like Tkachuk but to take him over Zadina and the likelihood the pick next year will be a top 5, is the dumbest thing of the night. Take Zadina ffs. And then the Dman no one heard of. They did get a second from us tho grrrrr
- Slimtj100

Despite what Chiefs and others have said, I still think Tkachuk is going to be a good player, but yeah, no way I pass over Zadina for him.

I didn't hear that, in fact when the Rangers went up to the podium Bob McKenzie was already saying dont be surprised if it's Kravtsov
- jimbro83

He did. You’re right. When the pick was made, nothing was immediately said....and when they did start talking I heard a lot of buts and ifs
Every other pick there was excitement.

Ottawa a little ballsy with that pick

the whole league regards them as the Siberia of the NHL right now, and all Brady has to do if 3 more years at BU, then he can become a free agent and sign wherever he wants

You have 3 picks in the first round and you’re not even highlighted in the recaps. There was silence and surprise when the Rangers made their first pick as if the commentators (not on camera) looked at each other and said WTF.
That’s a bad job.
Miller is a solid pick and the best one they made.

It’s gonna be judged in 2-3 years, I hate doing this now. It’s unfair to mgmt and the kids drafted. All the sudden people are going to hate Kravtsov because they wanted Wahlstrom and then he gets booed out of town. It gets to be ridiculously unfair. I wanted Ollie, but I’m over it already. Kravtsov could be a superstar we don’t know yet

I don't know, I literally read 1 million mock drafts and Kravtsov had been rising in all of them

draftsite had him going 10th overall yesterday

this league is all about high level talent now, maybe the Rangers found one to compete with some of these insane young players in the league like Matthews, Laine, etc

I would think that might be a strong possibility if Ottawa doesn't get their poop together.

I love your enthusiasm, but I feel like he's another pass first palyer. Which is fine. But who is scoring goals on this team now and in the future?

I was very excited for you when I saw they picked him. I was excited to get Miller, but it was somewhat subdued when they traded up for him. You have to assume they figured he wasn’t going to be there at 26

. The wings blogger guy is infuriated they took him over a dman
- Slimtj100

He’s a dope. Wings wound up with the two most fortunate picks of the first round due to what teams ahead of them did.

I love that they got a lefty and righty and both completely different styles. Miller looks like someone that will make forwards nervous and will keep the front of the net clear of any shenanigans.

If that is what the Rangers drafted him for I'm gonna be pissed. Beccause we've seen that movie before.

Big difference. Apparently Miller can skate like the wind and has a bit of an offensive of touch too. I just like the fact of having a guy who can also (frank) some poop up when need be,

Stop being so god damned negative Tom!

He can which is good. So him being converted forward will help. But if the Rangers try to pigeon hole him into being the enforcer than what is the point if he has skill?

I get that.

I'm talking about later, I figured you would be thrilled with Miller.

- mdw7413

Very happy with Miller, he’s one of the guys I wanted, think it was a steep price to pay to move up 4 spots but who knows if he would’ve been there. I’d be happy if we started moving some guys to add picks today, some good players still left.

LHD that are 25 and under for this team. Day, Gilmour, O'Gara, Skjei, Hajek, Lindgren, Rykov, Miller. That is a lot.
