what's interesting is this clip Leo says "this deal I'm about to sign"

I wonder if that's also a hint from Hayes

didn't know LazyHaze was crafty enough for that sort of move...

Can someone find a stream for me and post it so I can follow the draft today? Iā€™m incapable of doing such a thing

This thought, (very rare I know) but are we going to have to wait 5 years for Kravtsov, like we are doing now with Shestyorkin?

didn't look like it last night, in fact, reading some talk of trying to get him over this year instead of waiting a year

Does he have an opt out clause in his KHL deal?

there is this guy Grant McCagg on twitter who I am going back and forth with

he is adament that the Rangers should have taken Dobson, which I really can't argue with, but he follows with the though that the Rangers haven't done anything to replace Ryan McDonagh since they traded him

this thought is crazy

since the Rangers traded McDonagh they have acquired

Hajek
Lindgren
Rykov
K'Andre Miller
Lundkvist

it's literally been the primary focus, to find the next guy who will be their #1 defenseman

pretty sure this guy just hates Russians

I read something saying both parties could agree to wipe out his last year

I was chatting with my buddy this morning who played at a high level (was in Red Wings camp at one point) and coaches hockey now. Heā€™s fairly connected and was absolutely pissed the Wings didnā€™t draft Hughes. Things a defensemen like that can impact 25 minutes of a game a night and that the Red Wings have no one to exit the zone.

Just saying itā€™s funny how people view the game differently. Itā€™s not like he doesnā€™t like Zadina but thought Hughes was the obvious pick.

For Tom, he actually knows the Thomas family fairly well and thought it was a joke that Akil didnā€™t get taken.

Thomas should have gone before O'Brein and Hayton. I cannot believe Hayton went 5th.

Look, no disrespect to Hayton. I love character players like him. But jeez, that pick was absurd. Look at all the high-end skill guys they could have had there. Itā€™s just amazing.

Yeah but Arizona could have traded back to 10 or later and still got Hayton. I like him if he had fallen I would have hoped for the Rangers to consider trading up for him. But not at 5th overall. Thomas out scored him by 20+ points on worse team.

Itā€™s so dumb to not trade down in that spot. I know they only have 5 minutes but you have to figure they donā€™t decide in that moment oh hey we have to take Hayton right now, he obviously is the guy they wanted. How do you not talk to teams in the hours prior and work something out? Sooooooo dumb.

I donā€™t like the trade up the rangers did, I think thatā€™s whatā€™s irking me the most about last night. I do like Miller tho so I guess itā€™s a catch 22. I was pretty excited to have two more picks coming in short order. Iā€™m warming up to Vitali over Ollie, just sucks the isles had to get him and heā€™ll be a subject for years here...hopefully heā€™s a bum like JT Miller I do wonder if thatā€™s what Clark and Gorton may have seen in him, a JT clone

I was listening to NHL radio on the way home yesterday and there was a scout on, believe from central scouting he raved about Hayton and said he's the next Schiefle

you never know

here's what I do know, the Rangers ranked Kravtsov ahead of Zadina, so I am really glad the Rangers didn't trade up to grab him

This is just like when they drafted Dylan Mcllrath in 2010! Rather than go with more of a sure thing they gamble with the 9th over all. If your going to gamble you could have done that with the 26th or 28th or even traded up like you did. In 2010 you could have picked Cam Fowler, Valdimir Tarasenko, Nick Bujugstad, Kevin Hayes and Broc Nelseon just to name a few.

it's really not

he was a slow defenseman who had no chance of making it in the modern day NHL

the Wings blogger guy needs to realize they pick 33rd and 36th and will get 2 very solid defensemen
