It would have been zero trades, had the Caps not needed to make cap space to re-sign John Carlson prior to July 1st. That's why the smaller return for them in a 2nd Rounder, which was a great trade, as if they dealt Orpik's $5.5M and Grubauer to acquire John Carlson.
Last night, Pierre LeBrun stated that Caps GM, Brian MacLellan was going to meet late night Thursday with Rick Curran, the agent for Carlson on a new deal.
