I’ll be surprised if Bean can be an NHL regular. Certainly wouldn’t want the Oil spending anything of value on him.

He is a question mark. Bottom pair would be under achieving for him.

I think Hamilton would fit well with Slavin.
And agreed that’s a great Dcore.

- Iggysbff

Don't disagree, but Slavin and Pesce are good enough together that I'd be hesitant to break them up. New coach, though so who's to say? Either way, good trade for Carolina if they were already hesitant on signing Lindholm.

Carolina stepped up hard this draft. Svechnikov, Hamilton and Ferland along with Fox and Drury is a really good haul for their new management team! And now they can clear out Faulk without any fear.

Hamilton, Pesce, Faulk and Van Riemsdyk on the right side. They definitely aren’t done making moves.

Kinda seemed like they took Drury above his ranking.

A bit but that's kinda the story of this whole draft. Everyone's too close even within the 1st round- my boy Dellandrea is a perfect example.

How come Dellandrea is your boy?

Nielsen still on board when Oil picked in 6th round?

Gruden went to Ott at 95.

Seems like he will be an offensive D or a bust. But I think bingo said he D game was coming along recently. Still, seems like a career AHLer to me

From my draft post yesterday (http://my.hockeybuzz.com/...r_id=163151&post_id=18112):

"Fits my every criteria; volume shooter, late birthday, upward trending, great scoring numbers and is a hard worker. While he's likely to go in the late 1st round, he's a guy I'd have no problem trading up for if he falls close enough. He's my Trocheck/Severson/Jokiharju pick of this draft."

Looks like you weren’t the only one who thought highly of him. He went well above his ranking, as late risers seem to. A hindsight analysis from 5 years out would be interesting to compare value of late risers vs late fallers (get on it Sean).

If he goes undrafted, I think he'll be one of those guys that gets signed off a camp invite like Parker Kelly last year.

Seems to me like it’s harder to get signed than drafted.

Kesselring seems like a hope and a dream. High schooler. 6’4” right shot D.

Yeah, no direct opinion on Kesselring. Seems to have some offense and a bigger frame so I don't mind that pick but I'd much sooner swap Nielsen in for their actual 7th round pick.

They shoulda just chose Isaac Nurse for the novelty/press.

And to encourage Darnell to re-sign long term.

Yeah cousins. I was just joking tho, a pick like Nielsen prob woulda been the better call. Isaac is 19 so he def wasn’t getting drafted.

I think lindholm is underrated. He’s a solid player.
And hanifin has a pretty high ceiling with that skating.

But still, why trade dougie ?
Ferlands not too bad of a player either.
Kind of in the mold of Maroon type super tough guy with decent hands that can produce abit in the right situation

Kinda weird

I like the deal going forward for Calgary. I think Dougie would have almost been gone by the time they were ready to contend.

Hanifin and Lindholm they can build around long term with Johnny, Monahan, Bennett. And I agree I think Lindholm is underrated here.

While I agree with what you posted, I can’t help but wonder why you added Bennett to that list? I’m pretty well prepared to label him a Canadian version of Yakupov.

Oilers acquire Hayden Hawkey from the Canadiens for a 5th in 2019. Another goalie?
