Doesn't matter if he'd be there. Goalies are a complete crapshoot and now they don't pick until the 6th round in a draft where valuable players are sliding. Asinine when you consider the likelihood he turns out to be anything is minimal- particularly as a goalie.

Round 6? I get not using a first but round 6 there would be no goalie prospects of note left. Goalies have gone at 39, 62, 64 and 72. I’d say 62 was about right to grab one of the top goalies of the draft.

Not to mention valuable players are already sliding at the beginning of round 3.

The way I see it, we traded the chance at Gruden and maybe Nielsen for Rodrigue. To me that's a bad trade but we'll see.

Up until the goalie pick I thought you guys were having a good draft. Got a piece you definitely needed in the 1st round and McLeod plays wing as well as Center and certainly has the speed to keep up with McJeezy and Draisaitl.

As much as I disagree with drafting goalies that early, at least it wasn't a reach. A top-7 talent @10, a top-30 talent@ 40 and the highest rated NA Goalie @ 62. No more crazy reach picks is a positive.
