Don't think anyone predicted Barrett Hayton. I had the habs pick too but had Zadina at 4.

One years draft i got lucky. Made up for many of the other years. Draft for need was obvious to me this draft with so little C’s available.

Just because we drafted him in no way guarantees he every plays one game for us. Balls in his court, he can stay in school ..... get a degree and walk as a ufa. Will be nervously waiting for him to sign his entry level contract.

How much time has been wasted in here the last year or so about the canucks not being a preferred destination for players? Drafted an American kid already committed to staying in school... has been reported to have interviewed poorly , that thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Smells a bit like a lindros scenario to me. Time will tell of course , I'm simply saying cool your jets, we don't have anything but his rights yet
