Hopefully some trades tomorrow for Dim Jim
- LeftCoaster

Trade what exactly? Players that teams dont want. Hutton and pullout. Trading youth players OJ. Or the only and closet player Van has to a 1st pairing LHD in Edler.

Why make the team worse when you just attempted to pick lipstick on the pig.

Why would I be defensive? 6 of ya jumping down my throat because I said it's a risky pic

I made one comment. Your throat wasn’t anywhere near it.

Someone like Wilde may bump most of these forwards I list when Benning comes up. I doubt Wilde is still around at 37 though.

So with the 37th, here are some forwards that would fit into the system nicely.

Aki Thomas, Serron Noel, Jonathon Berggien, Jacob Olafsson,, Jack McBain.

Samuelsson is still a decent grab at 37 for D.

- boonerbuck

Totally down with Berggren. Or Noel

He can redeem himself by picking up no less then 8 2nd round picks.
- manvanfan

Personally I'd be happy with one more

Bullfrog. Hughes said 30 minutes ago he wants to turn pro immediately and play for the Canucks this season. Anything else to add?

You know, moments like these is when I come with with the crazy weaponized Latte ideas. New one... freeze large Latte and put it in a sock. Swing (frank)ing hard...

Wilde being RHD would fill the need we need most but Noel or another center would be okay too. It would be nice if we could move out a few guys a get a couple more 2nds.

I thought Sutter to Montreal might make some sense.

Lesser players have fetched 2nd and 3rd round picks, also, they're not trying to make the team better in the immediate, I'm guessing, they're trying to make the near future better.

Ty Smith should have gone before Boq or Bouchard imo. Kid is awesome
- CanuckDon

Says the guy who actually believed Dobson would be the second D off the board.

Before bouchard and Dobson perhaps, but that's the second tier after Hughes, Boqvist and Dahlin.

There's risk because of his size for sure, but risk because he plays college, whatever. If he was a Russian kid in the KHL, OK, then there's some risk.
- LeftCoaster

For sure... but you can control that Russian kids rights for a lot longer then the same college kids. Much less likely the Russian kid / CHL player is willing to hold out six years

Everyone in the Sens thread is freaking out about how Brady is going back to college so he can sign with Calgary after and play with his bro...

For (frank)sakes, he must be trolling. A pick of Hughes caliber has never not signed. If he plays 4 years in college it’s becasue he sucks and if that’s the case then who cares lol. I need some lattes for tomorrow

Ok - but Hughes has more talent in his pinky than Krug and he is a better skater than Ellis. He will be a dynamic number two. We still need a stud RHD that isn’t a smurf but we went for the kid with the highest ceiling which I’m ok with. A real “Pettersson” pick
- CanuckDon

I like this pick.

I was just goofin but you prob knew that.

Wonder if some teams are going to try to acquire early second rounders after seeing what was left on the board.

Good first day for Wings, Isles and not just because of the 2 picks. Zadina and Wahlstrom have some serious upside and Dobson/Veleno will be at the very least good role players.

Nucks, Oilers, Sharks and Hawks all have boom or bust picks. My money is still on Bouchard to be the 2nd best dman.

Wild, Rangers and and Ottawa picks I don't like.

You have TWO years to sign a drafted CHL player after you draft him in his first year of eligibility for the NHL draft, not six? Or he re-enters the draft.

NCAA you have four years or until his class is due to graduate.

Congrats on your win, I didn't think you were going to but Dobson's stock fell. I watched him in the MEM Cup and he didn't wow me. He's a great young player and I'd love to have him but I don't know, maybe that's why his stock fell???

You said something like “we don’t need that entitled midget” the other day, but I know that was just a defence mechanism kickin’ in figuring he’d already be off the board... Right?
