After we draft him 26th overall, we need to immediately flip him for JT Miller.

One of those guys will probably be there anyway, or Tkachuk himself.

I definitely agree with this. I’d be annoyed if they traded up to get him, but if he’s there at 9 I would be happy taking him. That’s unless by some chance he and wahlstrom are both there at 9, in which case give me wahlstrom all day

I like Tkachuks intangibles. I like to do my own comparing of past guys and I feel like he’d be our Adam graves. With the leadership, toughness, stuff etc. They have needed that kind of guy forever. But doesn’t sound like he can score like him however, which would be an issue for a top ten guy. That guy needs to be able to score. But he should check all the other boxes.

I’m predicting trading up to seven to get ollie

Isn't it amazing how 1-3 was set 4-7 or 4-9 was set and all of a sudden while NOBODY is actually Playing hockey and there is nothing to talk about there have been all these drastic changes to those rankings that were so set in stone less than 2 months ago? Its almost as bad as the NFL combine.

Too much overthinking....

Ehhh, Adam Graves an 8! time 20+ goal scorer for the Rangers. Idk if Tkachuk is ever gonna be that type of natural scorer. I get what you're saying though. Where Tkachuk goes to score his goals are similar. Plus he's just a pest to play against.

And in fairness, it was much easier to score goals back then. Those were the days when 70 goal seasons were almost becoming common place. Like they steroid era in baseball when 50 home runs because no big deal.

Yeah, personally I only look at the mock drafts posted by Gretzky, Lemieux, Messier and Jagr. All the rest of them are worthless.

Lucic trade watch in full swing today. He has a NMC, but we can confirm he’s willing to accept a trade out of Edmonton. Will come down to how much $ the Oilers eat and/or take back in a deal.

I have a gut feeling Arizona takes him with the Keith connection. Same with Hughes and Detroit, with the Michigan staying home connection

I think many of this were listening to the same broadcast on NHL radio this morning, but one of the guys on said there was a split in the Detroit organization on Hughes. Some (including the coach) absolutely love him, and some don't. So going to be interesting to see which factions wins out if he drops to them.

Is it fair to hope to get a Simmonds type guy with him, or a higher end one like Corey Perry? Simmonds seems kind of realistic
