I'm sure we could find a bunch of subjective reasons, but one indicator that might hold a little more water than a 4 game sample size might be looking at the amount of points each team had last season and where they finished in the league...
Although I'll admit that isn't perfect either since there are better and worse divisions so some teams might face tougher competition more frequently.
