I think it's pretty reasonable for some players to not like certain coaches.

Nobody ever liked Scotty Bowman.

To think how scary this team would have been if we didn't move up for Biggs. Burke the blowhard and his truculence. Just saw him on the Sportsnet panel for the draft...lmao

- PhilMcCracken

Ya i hated that move. At that draft there wasnt a need to move up

Lehner is better than all of them. Lehner could be a starter. He played great for a bad Buffalo team in 2017. Sparks is unproven in the NHL outside of one unimpressive stint. Sparks was great in the AHL but Lehner did everything Sparks did and he did it 7 years ago as a 19/20 year old.

McElhinney is 35 and a career back-up with little to no future. Pickard is somewhere between McElhinney and Sparks in terms of talent and experience.

Lehner is brutal and a jackass. Want nothing to do with that.

Way better than any back-up option the Leafs currently have.

Is Grubauer a UFA? I gotta wonder if he'd be willing to sign on with us, knowing he'd be a backup. It seems like he would be hoping this is his chance to find a starter position. Yes, he can always try and steal the starter job, but that can be tough, as he experienced this year.

If he did sign with us, I also wonder how much he'd want.

Salary dump and it only cost the Avs a 2nd round pick.

Sure no evidence and the worst team in the league just cut ties with him with no succession plan. But if you say so

No evidence except his clearly better career numbers. He did everything that Sparks did this year as a 20 year old, 7 years ago. He's younger than McElhinney, way better career numbers as a starter, way better numbers than Pickard.

So yeah, keep lying to yourself if you wish, reality is, he's better than every goalie in the organization not named Andersen and could even give Andersen a run for his money too.

Played for the Soo Greyhounds in 2009/2010 so Dubas definitely knows who he is too.

And "the worst team" isn't because of the goaltending. His numbers in 2017 were very good. The Sabres suck because the players in front of their goalie are young and their defense is flimsy.

Career gaa:

Lehner 2.82
Mcbackup 2.86
Picard 2.78

One isn't significantly worse, and the other is actually better.

Your version of reality is skewed. Your opinion isn't fact, should stop presenting as such. Each time you do you get bent over. You'd think you'd have learned by now

Funny coming from the guy who posted ONE stat and conviently ignored all the others. Lehner has played more games, despite being younger, better career SV% and was actually a successful starter and won all the awards Sparks did in the AHL but did it as a 20 year old.

Lehner career SV%: .915 (a lot of that as a starter in 219 GP)
McElhiney career SV%: .909 (a lot of that as a journeyman back-up in 186 GP)
Pickard career SV%: .913 (only played 87 career games)
Sparks career SV%: .893 (17GP, 3.02 GAA)

Get "bent over" as the facts just slapped you silly.

.915 isn't significantly better than .913, so as usual you're living in your own alternate reality. Hell it's not eve significantly better than .909.

You have serious issues with facts.

The facts didn't slap me silly since you said "significantly better" career number and yet pickards career gaa is actually BETTER AND HIS S% is marginally lower.

These are facts.

Please explain how you think saying something is significantly better when it's factually not proves you're right?

You can't even look at a stat (that you brought up) and acknowledge the truth.
