Depends on the situation. Flyers need a top 4 defenseman too. Trading one they do have for a "But he is so underrated defensively" player makes them worse.

True...not really familiar enough with the Flyers to know their strengths or needs. The generally perceived value of the 2 players would make it a pretty even deal in a vacuum though.

I can agree with that. Now if Sanheim proves to eat minutes and be a consistent player they hope for him AND one of their other young guys step up big then it would make sense. Unfortunately those questions won't be answered this offseason.

In a vacuum it’s a reasonable trade, but skilled Defensemen are so much harder to find then forwards. Ghost had 65 points last year, 4th or 5th highest among Defensemen I believe. Not that RNH isn’t a nice player but in my opinion you simply don’t trade Defensemen like that when you find them, especially when they are signed to a team friendly deal
