I'll take the floor of a PPQB over the floor of a bottom 6 jack of all trades.
Worrying about the floor is how you end up with Virtanen over Ehlers. - belcherbd
Yes.... that's why I'm hoping for boqvist, with about the ceiling not the floor. |

Serious question , would you compare Gryba to Gudbrandson or do you think Guddy is much better? - VANTEL
I think Guddy is much better, but he needs a guy like Edler to be effective. |

Canucks would move #7 if their players they want were gone or if a very big offer came accross.
They are willing to move on it if it helps the team
They ARE going to be looking for moves in free agency
They think they will get at least two very good players from the draft.
Any trade would need to be for a player that fits the age of this core group.
They have talked to teams about bad contracts |

As I said in the past I like Gudbrandson but I don't think there is a 3 mil difference in talent from what he offers compared to Gryba
And the beauty of it all is they both have the same initials so we can still call the guy we are talking about EG |

In the playoffs Gudbransen will be our best player. |

I disagree. Gryba isn't even worth having in your top 8, Gudbranson is a good bottom pairing, and when has a good partner like Edler, is a good top 4 guy. I don't think he is worth 4mil, maybe 3-3.5 but we don't need to worry about cap for awhile so it won't hurt us. |

The thing with Gryba is that edmonton is wanting to buy him out just to clear the contract spot. They are willing to pay 300k cap per year for 2 years. They could bury him in the minors for 1 with no cap hit at all, but they don't even want him taking up a contract spot so badly, they will take a 2 year 300k cap hit to drop it.
The people here who want to pick him up should lower their heads in shame. |

I think Guddy skates much better but honestly can't say I've watched enough of gryba.
I would prefer Gryba at his salary to Guddy and his on the bottom pairing. - belcherbd
Gryba can't even make the bottom pairing on the Oilers, In Bakersfield all last year. |

As bad as Guddy is, he is still an NHL'er, Gryba is not. Didn't play in the NHL last year. And he sucked down in Bakersfield too as far as I heard. |

The problem with Guddy is cost too much to acquire, and too much on salary. Decent bottom pairing guy though. |
