Short of admitting to planning a drive-by, I doubt the interviews have that much impact on a teams decision to draft someone....

I think prospects are getting smarter also . The fact that Hughes didn't have a good interview with Canucks (as per Don) makes me wonder if the prospects are trying some manipulating ?

I'm not sure they had formal interviews back then. He just publicly stated he didn't want to play in Quebec City. As you said, they took him anyways and reaped the trade rewards.

Although that trade worked out well for both teams.

I am not sure how me pointing out more and more prospects are choosing their destination is being drama .
Like I said to Lefty Florida has lost 3 prospects in 4 years that refused to sign. It is becoming more of a thing.

There is nothing Stopping Hughes from playing three more years in NCAA and waiting out the fourth
