Youre being dramatic.....his preference is Montreal, he made that clear, but he also said that he'd be happy to play in Vancouver... - chompsey
Thank you. |

Somewhat invalid argument as when MTL was winning their cups they were getting a lot of help from the league and/or the league was tiny - NorthNuck
in the era after the draft was introduced, they have won twice. the dynasty of the 70s was still a product of them buying the french players like lafleur, cournoyer, savard etc. |

I think Zadina said he would rather play in Mtl than Vancouver yesterday for all the ones hoping he falls to 7 - VANTEL
Was taken out of context by our desperate local radio hosts. He obviously wants to be drafted as high as possible and closer to his junior team. I’m sure every prospect prefers a specific team.
Boeser probably preferred Minnesota |

Who cares. The odds of him dropping to 7 is next to impossible and even so, if he does would that not constitute a huge red flag? |

It would be a huge red flag about the 4 GM's that passed on him... |

Just for the record, Zadina was not “misquoted” at all today. Did he mean to say something else? Maybe. But it was a scrum. It was heard by all. Anything else is “misquoting
Saying he’d rather play in Montreal. Never said he wouldn’t play in Vancouver. |

I'm curious how the league was helping MTL? - belcherbd Territorial rights to amateur players ( prospects ) in the early days. When Canada was the dominating hockey power in the world in the 6 team league , most of the best hockey players came from Quebec - VANTEL in the era after the draft was introduced, they have won twice. the dynasty of the 70s was still a product of them buying the french players like lafleur, cournoyer, savard etc. - johnnykarate

They won eight Cups in the 70's 80's and 90's. Give them credit for that. |

False...
The draft was alive and well all throughout the 70's. They made some great trades with some dumb GM's. They robbed the Seals for their 1971 first round pick to select Guy Lafleur |
