I think everything depends on price. Trading a poop ton for a guy that's going to be a UFA next summer? Nah, I am not even remotely interested in that.

You know, the interesting thing, and this was not what Brooks was saying (yeah, he's smoking crack), is that once Zadina, Dahlin and Svech are off the board, I wouldn't give up much to move up the 9th pick in the draft. Players are bunched together, and IMO, the move up cost should be lower.

I think that is generally true, yes.


I do think the Rangers will move around the draft board a little and probably trade at least one roster player.

It makes no sense. It would be the day I switch to another franchise.

For the record, if the #4 pick could be had for lesser picks that are not #9 and an RFA or two I would not mind a contract like Gaborik coming back, but not (frank)ing Ryan.
