Holy (frank) boys...

I would rather Faulk but I could see it being something like

To Calgary
Hanifin
Lindholm
2nd

To Carolina
Bennett
Dougie

Interesting quote from Babcock:

“Your scouts draft these guys, and let’s just say they are right on draft day,” Babcock said during a recent interview. “But if you don’t develop them, two years later it looks like the scouts did not do their job, but it was you did not do your job developing.”

Now i'm not sure who to blame for Tyler Biggs.

Not even close to the same player

Tanev is good, enough of the Canuck hate

- Santo_44

Tanev just doesn't play enough games per year to justify losing any draft picks, prospects, or valuable roster players.

Joffrey Lupul is a good player as well, but can't see many teams willing to ship a 1st, prospect and roster player to the Leafs for him.

As long as he's healthy for the playoffs

And Lupul isn't in the league. Horrible comparison

Why not make a play for Eric Stall then offer sheet Trouba?

Hall wins Hart!

Another reason to mock the Oilers! Bahahahahahahahah!

Honestly, must feel pretty poopy to be an Oilers fan. So much opportunity with high draft picks and the management has ruined them..

Given Tanev's injury history there is 0% evidence you can rely on him to be fit at any period of the season.

Games played in the last 4 years, 70,69,53,42. Will he be in the 30's this year?

If we plan on winning the cup at an average of 6 games per series that's 24 games. We might only have our "Top pairing defenseman" for 15 or 16 games in the regular season.

That's a very hard pass from me.

Put too much work into this

Good video! But can also sell him on the amount of endorsements the local boy will make playing in Toronto than he would playing anywhere else.

But here's what I do:

82 Million projected cap for 2018/19

Offer TANEV 1yr max deal promising him another 8yr contract following the max deal.
So it would look like this:

1. 2018- 1yr 16 million 28yrs
1. 2019- 12 million 29yrs
2. 2020- 12 million 30yrs
3. 2021- 12 million 31yrs
4. 2022- 12 million 32yrs
5. 2023- 12 million 33yrs
6. 2024- 12 million 32yrs
7. 2025- 12 million 33yrs
8. 2026- 12 million 34yrs

Total 112 Million over 9yrs with an avg 12.4M+++++endorsements

I then sign Nylander to bridge deal 4M x 3yrs

Bridge Marner the following year 5.5M x 2yrs

Knowing after 3yrs your going to have to pay the best one top dollar making other dispensable as a trade chip

Give Matthews long term contract the following year 11.5M x 8yrs

knowing you have Gardiner (4.5M) Hainsey (3M) coming off the books next yr

I trade Martin or buy him out since he clearly is not a Babcock player

My team 2018-2019 team looks like this:

FORWARDS

Johnsson (1.6M) Matthews (0.925M) Marner (0.900M) FIRST LINE

Marleau (6.2M) Tanev (16M) Nylander (4M) FIRST LINE

Hyman (2.25M) Kadri (4.5M) Brown (2.1M) SHUT DOWN LINE

Grundstom (0.925M) Aaltoen (1.2M) Kapanen (0.87M) 4th LINE

Spare: Levio (0.925M)

DEFENCE

Rielly (5M) Hainsey (3M)

Gardiner (4.5M) Zaitsev (4.5M)

Dermot (0.87) Tanev (16M)

Carrick (1.3M)

GOALIES

Anderson (5M) McElinney (0.85M)

BUYOUTS

Kessell (1.2M)
Martin (1M)

GRAND TOTAL $71.2 Million Leaving 10M in cap space to load up at deadline with a top 4 D

2018-19 STANLEY CUP CHAMPS.....YOUR TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS!!

Play him softer in the regular season if you have to. Missing some games in the regular season does not matter.

Bottom line, he's a very good defender. The proposal some Leafs fans have for him are laughable.

Dahlin

Bokk

all going earlier than Bouchard.

This means Max thinks Bouchard does not go any higher than 10

Can't wait for the Max VS UG argument when Bouchard goes 8th. Both will be wrong but instead of admitting it they will argue for 3 pages as to who was more right.

And as many as 5 or 6 of those teams will regret doing that if they were in fact that stupid.

Ranked 6th by ISS, 7th by McKeen, 4th by Central Scouting (NA skaters), 8th by Future Considerations, 7th by Bob McKenzie, 8th by Jeff Marek...

But sure, I hope he falls that far, he'll just be that much easier to acquire.

- Unholy_Goalie

So basically he wont be a top 5 pick.

I highly doubt we see a big trade. Think it's more draft and develop and filling in with FA.

(frank) big trades very rarely happen anywho

He is a good defender. He also misses a ton of games. The idea someone thinks this guy should be targeted by the Leafs is laughable.

Seriously think about it. The one guy we are relying on to improve our defense is the one guy who'll play the least amount of games.

I'm not sure why Nucks fans (and yourself) continue to ignore the fact he's missed 29 and 40 games in the past two seasons. And that's regular season as well. And we're relying on him being all healthy for the playoffs? Nothing suggests this guy can do that.

He misses too many games to injuries......this is Toronto...no sense trading for a D to play him soft.
I hope the leafs look elsewhere for D.

A lot of those injuries were bad luck. A pick to the face??

GM's are well aware of his injury history...it brings his value down. If the Nucks GM isn't willing to realize this he won't get traded.

But. Considering no one on here likes to give up anything more than Lievo and a 6th. Tanev is the perfect D to go after, he is under contract for 2 more years and will cost less than Nylander.

Irrelevant. UG is infallible. The only reason why someone wouldn’t think so is because they aren’t being objective. He said so himself.

Say goodbye to Nylander then. Or 1sts and 2nds.

If the Canucks do finally pull the trigger, he will be had for a fair price.

He's barely worth a 2nd and b - c prospect...no sh!t he wont cost a nylander.

He's not what the leafs need, a dman who has "bad luck injuries" every single year.

Hopefully the leafs look elsewhere.

Are you not concerned about the amount of games he's missed in his career? Like at all?

Games missed since being a full time NHLer. 18,12,13,29,40.
