Right?! So entertaining. Calgary has to love the fact Ottawa is taking all the attention away from them in Canada. |

Didn't Boston get a first round pick for Lucic? Man has the guy's stock ever fallen. |

On the Boston Bruins …
Jimmy Murphy: Sources are saying that there is increased trade talk involving forward David Krejci and David Backes as the Bruins may be looking to clear out salary cap space to potentially take a run at John Tavares.

They got a 1st round pick (15th or 16th), Martin Jones, who was flipped for a first (15th or 16th), and Colin Miller |

I was jumping for joy after that trade. Even when he was playing well in Boston, I wasn't his biggest fan.
Except when he would occasionally use Komisarek's face as a punching bag. |

So Kopitar is pretty good. One could say that his career isn't dead and he's getting paid appropriately. - TheMussel
Kopitar is a very good player. He made $14 million in 2016-17 for 12 goals and 52 points, with a $10 million cap hit. This past season, he earned his pay with 92 points and 35 goals for $13 million in salary. He is now 30 years old with 6 years remaining at $10 million cap hit. Its pretty safe to say - he earned his pay this past season. Is it a good contract, not for me, not even close. Think about it, if he has one good year followed by a sh!tty one to age 36 - do you like that deal? |

Probably true - they did not really have a choice. His deal was up, and he had the right to know if he was still the GM or would be playing tiddly winks with Jacques Lemaire. |

No, he had a contract to be an adviser. It looks to have screwed their chance at Tavares. |

Even when he just scored 52 points, at least he's the best defensive forward in the game. |

For a contract - you need offer and acceptance. Leafs offered - he declined. Same scenerio as Trotz.

He's one of them. I think Bergeron is better and he got ripped off last night. I heard a stat that Bergeron's line didn't allow a 5 on 5 goal for the first half of the season. How did he not win? For me there are some players worth $10 million a year - and Kopitar is not at that level. And if you look at his stats, 92 points was an anomaly - he's more like a 60 to 75 point guy.

Because Bergeron had Pastrnak and the best defensive winger in the game Marchand beside him while Kopitar played with a rookie and the corpse of Dustin Brown. |

I'd take a 75 point Kopitar Selke winner for 10 million a year.
I think he's gonna continue to crush it until he's Jumbo's age. |
