Or it could have been as simple as Hughes being tired of the whole process and maybe they asked him a bunch of questions that got under his skin and he snapped at them. A lot of the questions asked are dumb ones that are designed to elicit more than the whole rehearsed "cliche sports answers" that juniors with aspirations of going to the dance are coached in giving.

Skill is obviously hugely important in today’s game but attitude and a drive to succeed and improve is also very important with young prospects. THe fact he has said he doesn’t need to improve his D is hilarious

Not saying you're wrong, but I'd much prefer a kid who's got attitude but can back it up on the ice, rather than someone who gives the perfect answer all the time. Again, it could easily be something like they asked him a question he wasn't prepared for, gave an off-the-cuff answer that had he had a chance to think about might not have said. I mean, I know I've screwed up a job interview when a potential employer asked me out of the blue a question I felt wasn't about my qualifications for the job (IIRC, I got asked if I believe in God to which I blurted out, not really... it didn't end well from there)

I also believe that Seth Jones had a bad interview with the Avalanche (which was a factor in why he dropped to the Predators) and turned out fine. I believe the same was said about P.K. Subban too with how arrogant and flamboyant he was. I'll take skill/talent/BA over someone who gives the perfect answer but might not have as much skill or talent but works really hard everytime, because attitude and maturity issues can be fixed, there's only so much hard work can do.
