I’m not wrong. Panarin is a 70+ point player with shot line mates. He’d match McDavid in points playing with him.

Very doubtful.

Did he score more with Kane?

Nope.

- Iggysbff

He made Kane twice the player.

No, but he’s been a consistent 75+ point producer with centers like Anisimov and Dubois. Do you actually think his production would remain the same when paired with McDavid?

Kane has been a point per game player last 5/6 years and only 2 of those years were with Panarin.

He was laying it on a little thick... I was wondering how long it would take for him to taste the ban hammer.

And those two years were his most productive and included a scoring title.

Kane is a great player. But he was even better with Panarin.

This. Kane is NOT a hundred point player. Neither was Cheechoo a 50 goal scorer. But some line mates made them better.

Draisaitl just got 70 points playing more than half his ice time with far inferior linemates than Panarin. Even if you remove Draisaitl's production from his 5-on-5 ice time with McDavid (22 points in approximately 31 games worth of ice time), you've still got a guy who produced 33 EV points in the remaining even strength ice time he had.

If I go further and remove his 3-on-3 production (8 points), you have a player he still produced 25 EV points in those 45 games which prorates to 46 5-on-5 points over 82 games. This is on par with the total EV strength numbers (including their 3-on-3 numbers) of players like Ehlers, Backstrom and Nylander while playing with Maroon, Lucic, Strome and Caggiula.

With the same 3-on-3 production (because he and McDavid are magic) and an middle of the pack PP (a 50% PP improvement brings them to around league average and- for sake of argument- adds around 6 more PP points), Draisaitl is producing at around a 70 point pace even with that trash as his "help".

His production barely changed

He had one higher year but the team as a whole excelled that year.

And yet it did change. And once Panarin left it dipped, yet Panarin’s rose.

I’m not saying the difference was huge, but I am saying Kane didn’t carry Panarin.

Don't bank on players being good just because they play with McDavid. Especially at the cost of LD who has proven to be quite the force when they are together.

Hall, Eberle and Yak weren't exactly putting up special numbers with McDavid.

You'd need to have RNH on the left side as you need 2 strong defensive players when Yak is on the ice

I do wonder how Yak looks next year. Fired his agent Mr.Igor "my client is the best" Larionov.

A proper agent giving his client feedback is what Yak has needed for years

Hey I’m not saying Draisaitl is a poop player. I just saying that IMO Panarin is better. But that’s just an opinion, and we all know what they say about those.

Panarin might be more dynamic, but LD is a better fit.

Plus the guy doesn't want to extend yet and we have no Russians. Highly doubt he would re-sign with us. Doesn't seem like any sort of fit
