Here's the thing....the NHL awards are stupid in the way that NCAA college football polls are stupid. They are largely subjective.

Did Hall deserve the award? I don't know. Probably.

Was he more valuable than MacKinnon, Kopitar, or even Giroux? Probably not.

These awards don't really matter, other than giving people something to talk about ahead of the draft.

The fact that Mark Howe never won a Norris Trophy should tell you what you need to know about the people that vote on these awards.
