He can shoot the puck, he's just a pass first player. Ala Stepan. - tomburton99
I think he is a decent player and wouldn't be a bad pick if we had different players, but I think there are some others that would fit the Rangers better in the late 1st |

The (frank)? If it was between him and Tkachuk at 9, I take Wahlstrom. - mdw7413
They had the Rangers pick Boqvist at 9 and Oilers pick Ty Smith at 10. I was out of the car before they did the rest of the draft. Had Habs pick Kotkaniemi at 3 also.

Who? Foudy, Mcleod or Dellandrea? Because I thought about pick Dellandrea at 28. He can play in the middle or the wing and was the one bright spot on a terrible Flint team. - tomburton99

26 years ago today, Had the ruling gone the other way, Eric Lindros would have been a Ranger and the Nordiques would have received Tony Amonte, Alexei Kovalev, John Vanbiesbrouck, Doug
Weight, three first-round picks, and $12 million
(I think this was wrong, I think it was James Patrick instead of Weight) |

Here is what I can see happening:
I can see Dellandrea moving up the board significantly maybe into the late teens early 20s.
I can see Foudy making a huge leap either into the late first round or early second round.
I thin McLeod will go early second.

Funny thing only Kovalev was still on the cup team. Played great those playoffs though. |

I like Dellandrea, Foudy had nice year, but probably should go in the 2nd round. I want nothing to do with Mcleod. |

Crazy how it worked out, if we do that we don’t get Matteau and we don’t have the only cup we’ll ever see

Yup, but the Rangers turned Weight into Tikkanen. And Amonte into .... was that the Larmer deal or the Matteau deal? Can't believe I am not remembering this right now.

I heard some scouts talking about Foudy saying that he's some crazy off the charts athlete, and when he finally saw some more ice time with the Knights he was real damn good. Think the theory is that the team that drafts him will be taking a chance at an elite athlete who will excel with more opportunity, and will have the best coaching around in Juniors.
