i do wonder if the tatar trade has pulled them out of the running.
but i think that Mcphee says (frank) it and goes for it. not everyday you can acquire a 28-year old multiple norris trophy winning dman - Tumbleweed
They have the cap space, no doubt. But, I really wonder whether they just got lightning in a bottle last year. It was a magical run no doubt, but if you trade away three firsts in a row and a couple of good prospects then you are really, really taking the risk of setting your franchise back. Karlsson is not without risk. He has logged a lot of minutes and his been banged up. And then does anybody know whether he really wants to be in Vegas, considering that he can pick wherever he wants to play next summer. That's a huge, huge factor.
I’ve never been so anti something as I am getting him. I usually want everyone too haha
I’m serious when I say this, the most I’d give up is 26 lol
It’s the dumbest thing they could ever do. I could see it if they didn’t just trade all there veteran chips they had and still were in a contending spot. Hopefully that doosh was just looking for click bait I have faith in Gorton

What I am saying is that he is not even going to bring back anything close to what these guys are suggesting. Karlsson holds all the cards. What if he says, I want to go to the Rangers no matter what, I am going to sign there next summer, so trade me wherever you want, but next summer I am signing there. Then what? What is Ottawa going to get for him then?

mcphee won't be the 1st gm to overvalue his team based on a cinderella run.

They’d get alot more at the TDL. And I don’t think it’s a slam dunk he wants out of there anymore since they traded Hoffman. He’s a loyal dude

I don't think Ottawa is going to pay him $11-12 million a year to play on a rebuilding team even if he wanted to stay. And he's already said he's not taking a hometown discount. That team is in serious financial troubles, and if they paid him that, they would have a hard time building a competitive roster around him.
#NYR Big news. My source told me that Rangers are in serious negotiations at the moment, he believes the trade is involving the 26th pick and Vlad Namestnikov. Multiple teams are interested in receiving this kind of package and that NYR are in serious talks. See what happens.
