There are no good solutions. Buffalo will ask for the 3rd overall for O'Reilly, and quite frankly why shouldn't they?

They know the Habs are desperate for a #1 center (even if I think O'Reilly is a number one-ish, more of a 2nd). They will have other suitors for a trade.

It will all end up with a trade for Derick Brassard.

well, that's as good a solution as I can come up with. in the end, odds are bergevin will (frank) things up anyways.

There's only one avenue that gets this team back to respectability as early as next season and that's Tavares... Everything else is only delaying the inevitable

If they pick Kotkaniemi, with Ikonen, Habs could have two Finns as centers on their roster in the near future.

of course, they are going to be 3rd and 4th respectively.

I think Lekhonen played some center in pëe-wii hockey in Finland and he's responsible in his zone.

we know jt isn't coming. and as long as price and weber are on the team, drafting a centre who is 2-3 years from making an impact or a "power" forward who is committed to at least 1 more year of university and has not much offensive upside doesn't make sense. to be competitive, drafting an nhl ready potential sniper and signing statsny and trading for ror is really the only other option. plan b. last season bergevin had no plan b. one could argue he had no plan at all. this has to be a scenario that he is looking at.
