I wouldn't be against that idea, especially if they land JT... What terms are we looking at?

Dunno. 7 X 7.5M or something like that.

I would rather see the Habs try to trade Weber than Patches, TBH.

That's tough, just because if you get rid of Weber it's pretty much signaling a rebuild and at that point why not send Pacioretty off as well?

That is a brother trying to get his brother drafted as high as possible.

Tkachuk seems ok, but also seems like the one in the top 5-6 has the potential to be just meh.

- Mashadar

Yeah, Tkachuk used to play centre, but AFAIK very few expect him to go back there.

And I think there's a lot of assumptions made by the fans that because he's big and plays heavy, that means he's unskilled.

Yeah, I just see him as an Andrew Shaw 2.0. with maybe a little more scoring ability.

He's much bigger... But I hear ya, if you're drafting him at 10-15 it could be a good pick, I just don't see him ever justifying a top 3 selection

I think you could get more for Weber than you could get for Patches.

Then draft a D at 3 (or move down).

I see him producing about as much as the other forwards in the top 10, but with an added physicality.

You're probably right about the return...

Would you trade the 3rd for 11 & 12? Straight up?

Not Svechnikov, didn't count him since we won't be available. Zadina I don't see as more than a 30-30 kind of guy, and Tkachuk is a 25-30 or 25-35 to me.

You could be right, I'd prefer Zadina or Kotkaniemi over Tkachuk but that's just me...

Probably not.

They won't get an impact player at 11/12... decent player, but not impact.

Tricky cause you really don't know who will still be available at 11 & 12 when trading the 3rd...

But say they were set on drafting Zadina 3rd and they trade it for the 2 NYI picks and end up with Boqvist and Hayton? That would be decent!
