On John Carlson....

The Rangers are starting to sound confident about their chances to sign John Carlson...Previously, the belief was the rangers would go all in on Erik Karlsson...now that doesn't look certain at all...Karlsson and the Sens are looking more and more possible after the Hoffman Deal...

Stay tuned..

Preseason starts September 17, two games each against New Jersey, Philly and the Islanders. The Blueshirts will play three games at Madison Square Garden and all six contests in 11 days.

Why would the rangers go all in on Karlsson? It’s the dumbest thing they could ever do and defeats the purpose of the route they’re taking right now. When he’s a UFA yea it makes sense, but trading for him? That would be beyond stupid

I just find it ridiculous you hate a guy because he’s was traded for your favorite player. At least give him a full year on the team first. I gave Nash about 4 yrs before I couldn’t stand him anymore haha. And please don’t tell me you don’t hate Namestnikov hate Gortan if you didn’t like that part of the trade, not the player. It’s a bit unfair

He’s just not a good player, get rid of him before he has another 30 point season and we’re trading him for a 4th round pick. Right now I think he’s worth a 2nd, keep him and he has 32 points and we’re asking for a 4th.

20 games he played!!! On a bareboned team...How do you know that? Also He’s a two way player, why does every player have to get 50-60 pts? You need smarter defensive forwards to have a winning team. Ugh

It’s really only him lol he’s also gonna be pretty cheap. I’m not saying you have to keep him, but maybe give a guy more then 20 games before you say what this or any player is

There is word today that Artemi Panarin has told CLB that he is not ready to consider an extension “at this time.” (UFA July 2019.) As a result, the Blue Jackets are testing the market for him.

- eichiefs9

Word had it that Panarin did not want to commit yet to a long term deal with the CLB, once his current annual $6M one expires after this coming season. So the Jackets are testing his market return value starting now, to acquire the likely highest return they would ever be able to bring back, at any time up through the start of next season.
From that point forward, due to his pending UFA status, his trade return value will drop to as low as only a rental as the 2019 trade deadline later approaches, barring some Cup contending team's great need due to a then sudden key related injury occurring. After next season, they would then be in the Tavares dilemna with him. So to prevent that from happening, they will not allow Panarin to hold them up from moving forward now in another direction.

I get his logic on this one though. Nam is redundant in our lineup and he has decent trade value right now being an RFA coming off a career year. Buy low, sell high.

I understand that, but they were icing some of the worst players leauge wide last season. Gimme redundancy over that any day of the week

McKenzie's final rankings. Interesting see the disparity of views of scouts on certain players.
