If the Isles know Tavares will not sign, would they be looking at ROR? If so, what would we have to add to get 11 and 12? ROR and McCabe? They would get a needed center to play right away and defensive help they desperately need. Otherwise they may have to go complete rebuild. The Sabres could then either pick a winger and dman at 11 and 12 or trade up to get one of the top 7 picks.

The Kessel trade in 2010 comes to mind, I'm not saying that it happens often but MTL doesn't exactly have much that we'd want at this point with Galchenyuk gone.

Cause there is no use in paying a guy 7.5M to be your third line Centre and he’s the best trade chip we have to acquire wing depth. Casey might not be ready for 2C this year, but this is the highest ROR’s trade value will be. If the rumours of him and Eichel not getting along are true the it only makes it even easier to move on from him.
