Ottawa could be fine. They still have a decent lineup. Boedker's the best replacement for Hoffman they could hope for. They have a decent shot at Zadina. I bet Karlsson stays in Ottawa and won't have the injury, Hoffman, stillborn headaches next year. If Anderson bounces back, they could easily be a playoff team.

That pick could become something not too shabby...

Right now they have:
Thornton and Ward as UFAs.
Hertl, Tierney, & DeMelo as RFAs.

After 2018 season:
Couture, Pavelski, Donskoi, Sorensen are all UFAs.
Meier, Ryan and 4 others are RFAs.

Then Dillon and Braun are both UFAs or looking for new deals as well.

There entire roster could turn over. Could see a year without making the playoffs while they adjust.
