Mittelstadt being ready to be #2 center should not factor into us trading 90. We can find a stiff to be #2 center for a year. We're looking to be good 2 years from now - this year is about growth. |

He's an amazing player.. can't say I blame 'em for wanting to test the market if he doesn't sign an extension. He's gonna get a boatload of money.

Maybe the plan is for Montreal to draft Kotkaniemi and move him along with other assets to Buffalo for ROR post July 1st once we pay his bonus. We get a prospect who can potentially play LW as early this year who we can move to the middle in two years. Eichel, Mitts, Kotkaniemi down the middle for the next 10+ years. |

Why wouldnt they just trade 3OA and not have to worry about giving other assets too and buffalo just drafts whats his face. |
|

I don’t think they need him to play 25 min.
They need 18-20 good min.
I think he’s going to be a good player - sbroads24
agreed, I think he'll be a real good player as well...just don't feel the need to rush his development...same with mitts...I have no problem trading ror, but that puts a lot of pressure on a kid who has only six nhl games under his belt |

Would you do that if your Montreal? Neither would I. |

who's that No. 2 center you're going to sign to a short-term deal to play that role for one year? |

If you had a GM job and had to make a move to save your job would you do it ? I wouldn’t of traded Gally for Domi or PK for Weber either but he’s proven to be absolutely clueless. |

In that scenario, wouldn't you much rather have Zadina? |

Agreed. As long as the other center is playing tough dzone minutes, i don't care if they call Mittelstadt a 2C or 3C.

I guess for me, next year we shouldn’t plan on winning the cup, so I would try and get a stop gap 3C if they move O’Reilly. |

You have this offseason and next to move O'Reilly before his value starts to drop
Move him now and be done with it |

Because the top 2 D men don’t have to be opposite hand. - sbroads24
They don’t have to be,
but it’s generally how it’s done
Trade Risto, Bogo gets hurt, and our only RH defenseman hasn’t even played a full season yet
That’s not a great idea |

Cause I don’t think Erod is established enough defensively to handle the minutes he’s going to have to play as 3rd line C. I’m assuming most of Ozone starts are going to go to the Mittelstadt line followed closely behind by the Eichel line. Erod would have to be a shutdown centre. |

I really don't care who it is. It could be Erod or 23 for all I care. If I get the right offer I take it. |

Orrrrr, why not keep the prospect, if you're Montreal, and grow your team the right way, instead of trading away all that for a 28 year old? |
