And it can't hurt to have the space for a Tavares type addition. If it doesnt happen... you save the money for your owner. If it does happen you explain you'll make it up with playoff revenue. If that doesnt happen you hope to find a new job a year from now.

Actually Boedker makes 3.75m towards the cap for the next 2 years. 4 million in actual salary for those 2 years. So your owner has once again he is cheaper than teams like the Arizona Coyotes.

I like this move for Florida a lot, but I don't think it puts them on the same level as Toronto/Boston, unless their young guys make some big strides next year. But that could still be enough to get into the playoffs for them.

Duschene was a issue, but all his teammates reported no issues about him. They were willing to play with and for him to try and get his value back up. Hoffman alienated himself by having a issue between himself and his captain. Be it himself or the vages of the families. Either Hoff had to go or Karlsson had to go. Clearly one man's family was much more valuable to the franchise. I bet at this point Duschene could have expressed disappointment in the team publicly, and requested a trade, and have received more compensation than Hoffman.
