Don't know anything about the bit parts included, but this doesnt seem like a complete dump. Boedker makes 4 per, Hoffman makes 5.187 per. There is something there. Boedker has somewhat of a market. Hoffman has next to no market... gotta accept it. Especially if it gives the Sens a chance to resign Karlsson.

He has never scored 20 in his career. His best season was 19 / 50+ pts. 50 one other time. (Edited, didn't carry his Av points) He's had some injury trouble, but if he had been taken out of the top 10 he'd be getting half of his current salary. 3rd liner that's just ok in his own end.

Boedker has not been injury-prone recently, missing only 11 games in the last three years... for perspective's sake, Mike Hoffman has missed 12 games over the same span.

And while not as dynamic a scorer as Hoffman, Boedker does have two 50+ point seasons in the last 5 years and has averaged 0.52ppg over that span. He is a dynamic skater who is subjectively better defensively than Hoffman is and who still produces at a decent middle-six level.

His 4 million contract is a little high for what he offers, though not overly onerous (4 million per year against an 80 million cap is not unreasonable for 2nd/3rd line winger).

All in all, given the situation Dorion found himself in, this is probably the best the Sens could have hoped for...
