Bottom line is that PD must have chosen the SJ deal over the FLD deal to get Hoffman further away and then got schooled by SJ.

The budget is Melnyks fault for sure...but this situation is primarily on PD for not knowing WTF was going on in his club and not taking care of it before it became a friggin trainwreck...and then once you let that happen, compound the situation by not making the best trade.

Nothing you can do about it because Melnykl won't pay for any better than PD, but this is just sad.

Buffalo went though this when the Rigas's were thrown in Jail several years back and the NHL took over the team and then the guy that bought them (Golisano) only cared about making money and not having a winning product.

I'll take an expansion team after this season. All jokes aside, the team is not that different from 2 years ago and ofc that year was a fluke, but so was last year with terrible performances from some forwards and the goalies.

Hoffman isnt cancer though. He is just a player stuck between a poopy situation. Last report on TSN showed he was reaching out to Karlsson to get this redolved and clear the air. Karlsson did not answer. Apparently they hired lawyers to help the Karllsons find the person. If she turns out to be innocent guess who the bad guy is. There is no doubt that the situation between them is beyond repair but the only thing the players carebabout is being involved. They dont want to be involved nd they dont want to pick sides but in this situation they are forced to pick sides. Their relationship could have been destroyed by a rumour for all we know

So the general consensus is that both San Jose and Florida did very well today. That should surprise no one considering Ottawa was involved... wonder what the Vegas odds are on Ottawa ever coming out of the positive side of a deal? +1000? +2000?...
