I don't disagree with you, but at the same time I think this is a case where I am okay with Hextall being cautious. It would've been nice to get a player like him for a discount, however the risk isn't worth the reward for a guy who is 28 with 2 years left on his deal. Is his involvement with the situation and how it affects a team overblown? Perhaps, but it isn't worth throwing that kind of wildcard into the mix 4 years into a plan that you have. The plan continues with Hoffman in Florida...no loss here

i feel like Hoffman's "drama" was magnified by him being a hockey player playing in the capital city. also, once Carter and Hartnell were separated it didn't seem to affect poop on their other teams.

i would have risked it any day and twice on Sundays. it feels a void on the current flyers roster.
