#14, a 3rd, and hagg for Trouba and a 5th. Let’s go Hexy
- Just5

"................Philadelphia looking at Trouba"

YAWWWWWWWN!!!!

Even if the Jets were considering moving Trouba, it would have to be a hockey trade which would necessitate a) Philadelphia having comparable assets necessary to make the trade (which they don't) and b) those non-existent assets would have to being at positions the Jets need to strengthen.

Time to abandon the "Free Agents don't want to sign/re-sign in Winnipeg" narrative
- Norm.Peterson

" The winning trend helps but I don’t buy it as a real destination town. "

If you want to go to a team that will be competitive for a number of years, you go to Winnipeg. If you want to go to a team that finds innovative new ways to poop the bed year after year after year after year and whose fan base is 98.3% douchebags, the Flyers are for you. Now that Winnipeg has turned the corner, you will find more players will ignore the fact that Winnipeg isn't California, Florida or New York and go where they have a chance to win (see Stastny, Paul).

Only if Flyers were then flipping Hoffman elsewhere as SJ did. You never invite trouble/distractions into the locker room. That's the surest way to end up like, well, Ottawa.
- bmeltzer

You had people who were literally found guilty of killing people (Craig MacTavish, Dany Heatley) who went on to play key roles on contending/Cup-winning teams and ended up having fine post-crisis careers.

Whereas Hoffman was likely not even responsible for the poop that punched his ticket out of town...

I’m just trying to avoid giving up #14. I’d like to use that pick.

It is, but that's more in line with what it would take.

I think you’re right. R handed D, 24 yrs old on a fair contract that can play top minutes. Only knock is his inability to play a full season. I think the saying, if both sides feel it’s steep it’s probably a good deal, may apply here.

Edit: Ha! That’s a young player! 24

I don't disagree with you, but at the same time I think this is a case where I am okay with Hextall being cautious. It would've been nice to get a player like him for a discount, however the risk isn't worth the reward for a guy who is 28 with 2 years left on his deal. Is his involvement with the situation and how it affects a team overblown? Perhaps, but it isn't worth throwing that kind of wildcard into the mix 4 years into a plan that you have. The plan continues with Hoffman in Florida...no loss here

Well. I’m more than fine with it but I doubt they’re going to want to pay Simmonds

Hoffman could be a victim of circumstance. Let's hope Florida starts the season 15-0...because the talk is going to be about Hoffman and his fiance,. whether innocent or not.

I'm down with this. He's a very good AHL player, but nothing more than a 13/14th forward on an NHL team, so glad it's not a contract slot used on him.

There were Rumors that Trouba was hitting the coke with Bogo pretty hard during the early years in Winnipeg.

Just for an FYI.

I think I angered him when I called Winnipeg a poophole, which it is. People stay because housing and land is cheap. It blows here from November - May.

The Kings won cups doing coke. If anything, that increases his value.
