Habs want 2 first round picks for Price.

OK I will give them Chicago's and Detroit's.

They may need to give up two first round picks if he has another bad year

He’s fast he hits hard and he is getting better. With enough minutes he could hit 50 points.
- thundachunk

We don't have anyone with his speed and very few that can or will hit like him, he's not gonna put the points everyone was hoping for but he's still an important player. He's also still very young and just starting to figure out his capabilities at the NHL level.
At the end of the year he was starting to get more minutes and showed improvement, got more respect from TG and he earned it. I'm interested to see if TG can find the right linemate(s) for him, cus last year he spent the majority of his (limited) time with The Sedins, Boucher, Gaunce, Dowd & Granlund....not exactly the best recipe for success

He makes 15 million, in real dollars, each of the next two seasons

Meh...he's a young kid and it was his first playoff experience, hardly enough to pass judgment on him.

Jake will be a good third line winger who pitches in with 20 goals 40 points, nothing wrong with that. I wish he was mean and could fight though, he'd be more effective.

- LeftCoaster

That would be quite surprising, I hope the kid can do it but I don't think anything so far he has done has suggested that it is likely.

Bennings list of mistakes is long and deep. Jim is a dimwit but that's beside the point.

I do laugh though when I see a team dig their feet in the sand and refuse to trade for the one player that paired well with their best Dman so they can draft Akil Thomas at 25 th spot.

Tanev will probably play 70 games this year and another year will pass as you wait for your prospects to play

I don't care who takes him but I know some team , sometime this year will offer a decent return for Tanev. I am patient

- VANTEL

Saying Tanev will play 70 games is like saying sven will score 25 goals

Sure it could happen but there’s no evidence to actually believe it

I wonder if Vegas will have a betting line on games played by him ....over/under should be around 55.5

He had 20 points in a very limited role this year, it's certainly not out of the question in three years if his minutes and mates get better.

NHL Trade Rumors:

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Grady Sas: The Canucks have been getting calls on multiple defensemen including Chris Tanev and Alex Edler.

Grady Sas: Seems that teams are currently sending the Canucks lowball offers for Tanev. The Canucks can hope that somehow they are able to create a bidding war for him.

Rick Dhaliwal: Source is saying that Canucks defenseman Chris Tanev is definitely in play. The Maple Leafs are still interested. The trade offers for Tanev haven’t been great but they could improve at the draft.

Jason Brough: Chris Tanev Trade Power Rankings 1. Maple Leafs 2. Lightning 3. NY Islanders. The Maple Leafs still make the most sense.

I would say that you pulled that number out of thin air but I see it is actually the number of points Flames will finish with next year

I'd be interested to know what the market for Edler is like for sure. At this point it doesn't seem like moving him before the end of his contract will happen

The Islanders are in an interesting situation, if they can't re-sign Tavares, they will probably not want to be giving up any picks or young assets.
More than likely they would be re-tooling with some of the young kids they already have and the 2 1st and 2 2nds they have this draft.

At this point I'd take a lowball offer for Edler or Tanev, without either we would for sure end up last overall and maybe end up with Hughes 1OA in the '19 Vancouver draft.

Yup. Let's remember, puck to face, food poisoning, mumps. A lot of freak situations led to Tanev missing time over the last 2 years. When or if OJ makes the team I want Tanev with him.

Elder won't go. But he might at TDL, if we offer up the idea of resigning him in offseason.

Trade both at TDL, unless someone blows the door off for Tanev.

I think right now this is Edlers team . He should at TDL agree to leave for 3 months and get a pick and a prospect . Then extend here for 4 years with captaincy. See I don't really hate Swedes I blame Lefty.
