Weber and Chicago's second and a 2022 third for Loui Eriksson

Weber's actual cost is 6 mil for the next 4 years and so is Loui's

After 4 years Mtl retain 3,857,143 for the last 4 years

His actual cost is 1 mil for the last 3 years and 3 mil for the 2022 season

Canucks cap hit would be 4 mil and we dump Loui

You could then also trade Tanev for another first and save his salary

While the Eriksson contract sucks, and he's been bad here, it's not actively causing us any major issues. He's at least serviceable and we aren't exactly up against the cap or trying to sign any players we can't afford.

Who cares? Eriksson's contract isn't a liability. With Weber you're moving one immobile, broken old player for another. Except you can't hide an immobile dman as well as a forward.

The team has loads of cap space and the end of Loui's deal is tradeable since he makes like 2-3 mil with a 6 cap hit.

The goal is to be good in 2-3 years. Eriksson's gone by then basically. Weber is still a 7+ hit until he LTIR's into retirement well after that.
