It was pretty difficult. I had to make the trades before the season started so the value wasn't so high on the picks. That also meant simulating the year with a team worse than most AHL rosters. They got 8 wins.

Well it gives the kids time to develop properly in a developmental league, for one thing. JUolevi should go to Utica. So should Dahlen and Pettersson IMO. Gaudette i like on the Canucks, if he has a good camp go for it. We shouldn't be in a hurry to crush these kids confidence a la JV, Hutton or McCann

I think(and so do many others) that Pettersson is ready for the NHL. It would be a waste of his time to be in the AHL this year with how he dominated the Swedish mens league last year. The only reason he should spend any time in Utica is if he has difficulty with the smaller ice.

man Dorion is so bad. should have waited out the media storm. Florida is the big winner out of this, not SJ people! Hoffman is one of the best 5v5 scorers available. Florida is going to the dance next year if healthy.

Personally I think it's more a frustration with the players for allowing the inflation to continue at such a ridiculous rate rather than not understanding why it happens. The more money they demand than their peers every year the more likely another lockout becomes in the future

I don't blame anyone for taking the money they feel they're worth, I would take as much as possible if I were in JTs situation. I'm just saying when everyone does it that's where it eventually heads. Can't rely on the players to take less can't rely on the owners to offer less, unwinnable scenario where the fans end up losing when we miss a half or entire season down the road.

San Jose cleard 4 mil of cap for two years (Kovalchuk/Tavares) and got 4 or 5 draft picks and a prospect by middle-man-ing a player with huge baggage.

That's a massive win.
