the differences between a good manager and a bad one are glaringly apparent some days.

Our GM yesterday telling the media he made a 36 million dollar mistake while SJ is out collecting more draft picks in one day than we have acquired in two years

Pretty good day for Doug Wilson. He gets rid of Mikkel Boedker and trades a 6th round pick in exchange for a 2nd, a 4th and two 5th round picks, plus $4 million in cap space and $6 million in real salary savings. #sjsharks

Twitter:
Tallon said he spoke to Ottawa last week "but the price was too high to pay." Got a call from Sharks last night and made the deal. #Sens
Tallon said he didn't offer the package to Ottawa that he gave to San Jose. #Sens
Tallon said he talked to some players about Hoffman and "I had no pushback."

Still looks so bad for Ottawa, the Sharks won every move they made with no concessions. Now are primed to make pitches to Tavares/Kovalchuk or even Carlsson

It is based on scouting projections not where players will land. Craig Button is doing a Mock Draft tomorrow. This may be more accurate.

Dorion is Chiarelli bad, those two and Benning make up the current worst three GM's in the league.

I don’t know what to say about the ineptitude of our management. If he lands a Karlsson or Tavares it would be great but I don’t see any elite players wanting to play here at this point in our franchise retool rebuild whatever they are calllng it now.

I stand by my bottom three, Bergevin at least had enough sense to acquire a bunch of picks. Montreal has FIVE draft picks in the first two rounds.....five!!!

Bergevin I guess you can make a case for, but Dale Tallon, in my opinion, is definitely a bottom 3 GM. How he handled expansion last year was the worst of any GM in the league.

They executed their plan to perfection. They now have cap space and assets to trade that keep roster in tact, or add players to their system; all for a guy under performing on his contract

Dorion, Chiarelli, Bergavan, Tallon, et al, al disagree with your simplification of facts...

Edit.... plus the nearly departed snow.

Years of mismanaging can do that

Honestly this does not look like an attractive landing spot for players.

Tallon for me takes the spot in the bottom 3 recently vacated by Garth Snow. Benning is close though, currently a bottom 5 GM, and I say that as a guy who still supports him

Sign Tavares and trade Couture for Karlsson and then pick Couture up as a UFA the following year

I love how Benning is getting bashed over this. He didn’t even make a trade lol. Some of you are stupider than Dorian

Lol... Montreal is in way worst shape then us.
MB traded an in prime perennial Norris candidate for a great defensemen (5years to late), rewarded the teams top defensive prospect for a soft French winger, etc... etc... plus prices contract

Well I've officially done my research for this years draft. NHL 18 GM mode I took Buffalo and traded away their entire roster and most draft picks in the next 5 years in order to acquire 27/31 1st round draft picks for this draft.

After 4/5 years my top lines were

Svechnikov-Veleno-Zadina all elite with Veleno being the highest rated

Merkley-Boqvist
With Merkley being elite level(comparable to Karlsson) and Boq as a good 2D and Dahlin only becoming a good top 4 Dman

This highly accurate simulation has convinced me that we should trade down for Merkley as he is clearly the best this draft has to offer

Nothing but love 24/7

I don't know if it the hair , the expressions , or the Armani suits but that looks like someone I try to not sit beside on the Skytrain.

I would think he smells of mothballs

Bennings biggest mistake is not calling Dorion 50 times a day. He fleeced him once why stop? Offer all of scraps to Ottawa

Well IMO for a team that needs a lot of work that is exactly what he should be doing
instead of admitting to the press that he made a mistake again.

Andrew Shaw's contract is up there for me as well. I think the legacy of his tenure is wasting away the years they had while players were on good contracts
