It takes time for perceptions to change. As happy as we are right now, the pitchforks will come in in a heartbeat if the team doesn't come out winning in October.

Exactly
They're going to need at least a competitive season or two to chip away at the 20 years of bafoonery.

Team hires Lou it’s a new ballgame even before the first game is played. Isles will have tough times but they have someone that will do something about it.

Barry's gonna wait until after the draft to sign up... That way Lou can still trade for Grubauer at the lower cost and not the bitter higher one, lol.

Some in Canada are just upset hiring Lou may get in the way of the perfect order of JT leaving.

Yes, it shows that they are serious. Removing Snow and bringing all new leadership was the first step. There are a lot more steps to come before the Isles are thought of as a winning franchise. It is absolutely significant, but they still have a long way to go.

Hard to make another statement as big as Lou but Trotz would be about on par

My point was they still need to win. Lou is a huge (and necessary) statement. I think a proven coach like Trotz and JT signing will be equally huge. If Lou can also get a solid goalie I may pass out from all the off season excitement.

As long as we have action I'll gladly take a slow rest of the summer. Problem was it was pretty slow with Garth from the get go.

Hmm, I remember Keefe was coming here with his analytics

Must be that selective memory of yours with a poor mental grip when someone discusses an interesting attribute and then you then recall it as him coming here with analytics.

Fortunately for everyone involved (excepting unfortunate Oiler fans), Tanner is also full of shit.

Not going to lose my mind if trotz isn't our coach. I'm fine with whoever Lameriello decides is the right person for the job if it's Trotz so be it but I'll feel exactly the same if it's just about anyone else besides Bylsma. That's the one dude I don't want near this team.

Also, I rarely read anything that clown writes but anything I have read he's been wrong about. Not just wrong completely (frank)ing wrong

So sad. Because he took a few years to win the Cup with Caps he is not a good coach? People forget the fine job Trotz did with the Preds even when they would not spend money.

Same here Cpt Trotz or not. The great thing about Lou is even if a coach he hired does not work out, Lou will not wait 6 years to fix it.

There's only one thing that counts in hockey. Tannsi for/against. Everything else is luck or unsustainable.

Yeah it's not an exact science and Lou nor anyone else has a 100% success rate. You're right if it doesn't work we can be rest assured Lou will fire them most likely pretty damn quick

The great thing about Lou is even if the coach is working out fine, he probably still will fire him.
